Hey guys,

I've spent the last couple days nailing down our travel plans for our upcoming Autumn trip and I thought I'd share. That means the travel blog at grandpamohawk.com will get some new entries.

This time we're taking my uncle & aunt along (my Disney-convert cousin's parents). They've never been to Disney in their 70+ years even though my uncle has been collecting Disney stuff since the days of Snow White. My aunt has resisted because she believes Disney is "like Six Flags". My cousin has been eager to get his parents to the World ever since his first whirlwind NYE extravaganza.

We'll be at SSR for 8 days with them. Grandpa Mohawk and I get a week before at Marriott and 3 days after at SSR. A little insurance padding for us. Hopefully I will be able to keep him away from stumbling over the van ramp this time. (i.e. No more trips to Dr. Phillips Hospital thank you.)

One thing I came across this time is that the Behind the Steam Trains Tour is still down for refurbishment until late October (21?). I had wanted to send the dads on that one since my uncle is a train buff. Instead I'm sending them on the Mickey's Milestones tour while I get my aunt to take the floral arranging class with me.

For now there's a schedule up on the blog along with various postings from Twitter. I've upgraded my tech so I can send pictures and messages via my cell in the park and write it up later. If I come across anything interesting you can see that there.

The date for Grandpa Mohawk's purple glitter mohawk haircut is September 28, around 3pm in the Barber Shop. Hope we see some of you.

THey will love Mickey's Milestone's Tour - its not as popular - ie crowded... so sometimes the CM doesnt think they need the headset - I politely requested them as dh is "hard of hearing" Everyone on the tour was really grateful for the headset - esp in the Philharmagic our CM quietly pointed out Hidden Mickey's!!

Its a very special tour - imho - esp since with the advent of the "new plans" ie destroying ToonTown - where will Mickey's house relocate? Right now, no one knows for sure, so take the tour now while the house and the county fair with Mickey and Minnie are available!!

I always enjoy your trip reports. I'm looking forward to reading about all your new adventures. You and Grandpa Mohawk have such fun together and it will be even better with your family along for the ride.

I love reading your reports and I am looking forward to more !

When are you going and where are you staying ?

I wonder if we will be there are the same time ?

:cool1:

The next best thing to going to Disney myself is reading about your adventures while you're there, BroganMc! Thrilled that this treat is coming our way...

I agree, tho: no more trips to the hospital!!! No broken bones, fevers, or any other kind of maladies, please!!! You had your turn in that box already!

Have a GREAT time and thanks so much for sharing it w/us!

Grandpa Mohawk (Dad) and I have 3 trips planned to the World the next few months. I have trip countdowns on the blog, FWIW.

We're leaving for Florida end of next week. Driving down Friday or Saturday (we're debating the best time to chance DC traffic). We'll be offsite at Marriott's Horizons Sunday Sep 27 - Oct 4. Then we pack up the van, go to church and move to SSR on Oct 4. Our family is flying in that day to join us and we stay together in a 2bedroom somewhere until Oct 11. Then GM and I will send the family home and move to a studio for three nights.

So we're in town Sep 27 - Oct 15.

Then we come back (with all my siblings and their families... 17 people max?) for December 5 - 8. We'll be at the Christmas Party that Sunday. We may also be taking the Yuletide tour on Monday. (Dad's not as keen on the idea of us going off to do a tour, but I'm wondering if by then we'd want some alone time. Either way the tour looks interesting.)

And last, we'll be back (GM, my cousin and I) for our 3rd Annual NYE trip Dec 30 - Jan 2. It'll probably be our last for a couple years while we wait out the more expensive weekend holidays. We plan to switch to early December trips next year, but probably a longer stay.

All times we're in SSR. What can I say? We love the place. Next year we'll be adding BLT and BWV to our rotation.

Where is the Food & Wine Festival events in your plans?

Friday, October 2. It's my birthday wish this year to spend the day drinking and eating my way around EPCOT with my sidekick-in-chief aka Grandpa Mohawk. Last year we spent the day with him in surgery and me exhausted from trips back and forth to the hospital. This year will be completely different. And Disney can pick up my drinking tab thanks to the Birthday Celebrations thing.

Honestly if I could have any wish come true that day it would be to have a good view of Illuminations and when that mushy part of "We Go On" is played I can look over and see my dad smiling like a goofball beside me. Next best thing to having a Prince Charming of your own is having the loving Good King in your life.

We'll be back Tuesday, Oct 6, and probably again on Sat the 10th, not to mention a pre-trip on Tues or Wed (9/27 - 9/28).

We arrive am on the 10th of October. Plan to go to Food and Wine that day, too. ( Sure we will be there other days also. )

Will be looking for you. We are celebrating our 39th Anniversary !
