Is there a minimum spend? Could I just get the Chips & Dip ($12.99; feeds 6 guests) and some drinks, say mimosas? Would there be any other charges on top of that?

There's no minimum - it's just like ordering room service, so you'd just pay for the food plus 6.5% tax and the Grand's 18% gratuity. :thumbsup2

You can also hire a butler to come on board and serve the food, which runs about $75, but I'm pretty sure they don't require you to have him there to serve the food.

18% gratuity???? isn't that a lot???

Does anyone have a menu/price list for what you can order?

I can't decide whether to book a table at a restuarant for the 'reception' or just to have food on the Grand1.

If anyone has any further details I would very much appreciate it.

Thanks!

Thanks for those links Chilly!

Even if they are not bang up to date it gives me a vague idea.

Thanks again, I really appreciate your help with this! :thumbsup2

Thanks for the links, I've been looking everywhere for this.

I'm looking to do it on the cheap too, the Grand One is taking me and my groomsmen to the WP. Gonna just get some chips and dips and a few beers!

The cool thing about the Grand 1, besides the novelty of being on a yacht, is that it's completely private, whereas there are few private rooms at the various Disney restaurants, and it can be pricey to reserve them.

If you have a Grand 1 cruise booked right now, please double check your reservation. I booked about 2 months ago and I called to reconfirm everything the day before. The CM said she showed that we were leaving at 7. I tell her "no...we are leaving at 7:30 and we are supposed to be at the Marina at 7". I have booked the Grand 1 many times and know the routine. When we arrive there is not anyone around except our captains are onboard. They tell us to go ahead and come onboard until someone gets there to check us in. Food doesn't show up until almost 8. He is so apologetic and explains that food/beverage orders are not done the way they used to be. Linda Sgallata is no longer there. We had not orinigally wanted a butler, but we like him so much (7 women) that we asked him if he could stay. He called to let the GF know that he would be going on the cruise. After the cruise, he gave me all of his personal contact info since we will be taking the Grand 1 back out in November and he wanted to make sure that he had our food order correct for that trip...very nice of him :)

Cruise was great and we decided to stay out longer. We have done this many times. They radio the Marina and tell them. The CM at the Marina says the boat has to be back by 10 and they want to settle up the cc info over the radio? The Captain (who has been out with us before) says he doesn't know what's going on and he is embarrassed. I had told the guy at the Marina that I didn't know how long we were keeping the boat out and he said that I needed to wait until we returned to "settle up". It wasn't a major deal, but I was definitely confused.

The next day I receive a call from Skip who is the new manager for the Marina recreation. I think the captain and the butler both called him as I have never received a followup call about the Grand 1. I explained and he apologized and said that the CM at the Marina is "his cm" and he would speak to him about this being unacceptable behavior. We had a long chat and I was pleased that he took the time to call. He is also trying to clear up an old double charge for the Grand 1.

I think this incident was isolated as we have never had a problem before, but I will be more careful next trip about times...etc.

Also...we ordered the cheese/cracker tray this time and it was wonderful. I believe there were 7 different cheeses and assorted crackers. Of course, the tuxedo strawberries are always yummy! We ordered 3 bottles of wine, soft drinks and a few beers, but we also took another bottle of liquor that we purchased at the GF gift shop and another bottle of favorite wine from our room. And, yes....we could still walk straight afterwards :woohoo:

Thanks for all the extra information guys!

I think it would be lovely to have food on the Grand1 but is there really anywhere to sit down and eat properly? Plus you are charged another $450 for two hours instead of just the one so it will probably work out just as expensive as a private room say at Citricos. Or am I wrong?

I think by 9pm people are going to want to eat hot, substantial food so I'm thinking we may end up at a restaurant after the cruise. ...(I say this now, I shall probably change my mind in 10 minutes!) haha!

Thanks again guys :thumbsup2
