We recently purchased a BWV resale and are excited to plan a 7 night trip for the end of September 2007. We want to book a GV and have read to maximize our chance of getting one we should call day by day at the 11 month window. I was wondering if anyone has a preference for the one-story or two-story villa. Are they all in the same location? Just curious if there is an advantage to one over another in anyone's opinion.

Also, because of the big difference in points (about 150 I think), I'm trying to convince my husband to try to book the GV at OKW at the 7 month window, and cancel BWV if we get it. He seems to think that the proximity to the parks and more restaurants makes it worth the substantially more points at BWV. We'll have 6 adults and 4 little kids (age 1-4) and be spending most of our time at Magic Kingdom I imagine. Does anyone else feel it is worth about 150 points more to stay at BWV than OKW? And how feasible is it to even think that we could get the GV at OKW at the 7 months out?

Thanks for your thoughts!

I'm not sure how easy it will be to book the OKW GV at 7 months for a late september trip, but it is certainly worth a shot.

It used to be that September was a slow time at WDW, but it doesn't seem so anymore.

As to the BWV GVs being worth 150 points more than OKW, I don't think so personally. We always stay at the GVs at OKW - it is just so wonderful in my opinion.

For certain things, like the F&W festival at Epcot, I like staying at BW/BC, but other than that, I prefer OKW - you are still going to take a bus ride (or car ride) to get to MK, so I don't see it as being a big difference.

With 4 little ones, I think it is worth the extra points to stay at the BWV. Assuming the little ones are in bed fairly early, the adults "stuck" in the villa will be able to see IllumiNations firewarks from the balcony and will also be able to people watch since they over look the Boardwalk. Those adults who aren't on kid duty can enjoy JellyRolls, ESPN or any of the other nightly activities on the Boardwalk.

Best wishes -

150 points at $10-$11 each, is BWV really worth $1500-1650 more to you? My choice would be OKW and rent the points to cover the meal plan for the gang for the week, plus have $300-450 spending money? Or just use the points and stay 4 extra nights?

Which ever you do, you will have a great trip!!!

OKW GV's tend to book early, and getting one at 7-months for September is most likely a long shot.

Book your BWV GV, and then at 7 months go ahead and try OKW. If it's available that's great, and if not, you've got your BWV. You could always wait list at that point knowing you have a room if the waitlist doesn't come through.

When you call at 7-months, call immediately on the day right when MS opens, and book day by day. Remember, at that time you're not competing with OKW members, but instead it's all the BWV, BCV, VWL, SSR, HH, and VB owners who also may be looking to get a GV at OKW for September.

Wouldn't this require you give up your BWV GV day-by-day also? If so, that would be risky.

Based on what Carol said, if the adults want to have those BWV activities available, then the extra points (money) may be worth it. If those aren't such a big deal, then go for OKW. You may have a slight chance in Sept.
