We're going soon and have saved point for a Grand Villa at Old Key West. (Yea!) My mom can't really do stairs but my dad seems to think that all of the grand villas start on the second floor of a building. Do you know if this is true? Thanks!

The ones at Saratoga the main door is on the first floor, there is an entrance also to the 2nd floor.

Kitchen, living room, dining room, 4th full bathroom and master suite on the 1st floor.

2nd/3rd bedrooms, baths and w/d are on the 2nd floor.

I'm sure one of the OKW crowd like Diane can give you the OKW GV rundown.

Only one of the OKW GVs has a ground floor entrance, it is in building 48 and is a handicap Unit. There are also some GVs (two I think) in building 63, the entrances are on the second floor, but bldg 63 has an elevator. If you want bldg 48, be sure that once you book it, you are booked through Disney special needs department, they can block it for you. And also be sure to note that ground floor entrance on elevator bldg is showing on your request as a medical necessity.

There is only stairway access to the bedrooms on the second floor, so your parents would need to occupy the master bedroom.

As far as I know all of the OKW GVs are on at least the 2nd floor. However per the Disney WDW website:
One of the buildings in which Grand Villas are located has elevators.
So you could explain to MS that you must have the one of the GVs in the building with the elevator due to your mother's health. There also should be a handicapped accessible GV which might be on the ground floor.

Otherwise you might want to consider a different resort.

Yep, as most times, Chuck is right. If you note on the ressie that you need 48 or 63 due to medical issues you will probably get it. I got the GV in 63 at 7 months out and noted mobility issues. FYI - It is a fantastic villa!!:thumbsup2
