I have a chance for an II swap for The Grand Timber Lodge in Breckenridge for Jan. Does anyone know anything about this location? It looks new, and appears to be right at the base of the Snowflake lift. Any info on the area or this lodge would be very helpful. I'm also looking at Keystone Resort. I will not have a car, so wondering which would be better/eaiser getting around on their shuttle bus system. Thanks for any info you can provide.

We, too, would love info on this place. We are thinking of trading out during the 2002/2003 winter season and this was one of the places we had considered.

There is only one rating and there are 3 reviews on TUG. The rating is a 9.0. The descriptions were very postive except no AC though I suspect it's not needed most of the time. If you go over to TUG and post a request for info, I bet you could get some more input. Sounds like a place I'd consider sometime.

BillPA.

We stayed at Keystone "pre-DVC" - back in 1996. As far as the ease of getting around without a car ... Unless things have changed, Summit County has a bus system that will take you to and from locations throughout the county, inluding Keystone, A-Basin, Breck, and, most importantly - THE OUTLET STORES!! :)

I was not familiar with this resort until I saw your post. I went out and checked out their website - wow! This place looks REALLY nice!!

Thanks for bringing it to my attention. Has MS given you any idea how many points you're looking at for the trade? If it doesn't work out - don't rule out Keystone - it's a REALLY nice place - and you're not locked into that 7-day stay...

Thanks for the tip!

I've never stayed at Grand Timber but have stayed at the Marriott Mountain Valley Lodge and another Ski in/out condo. Breck has a great trolley system that can take you around the town. We (including a kid and another one in a stroller) just usually walk around. There is a grocery store within walking distance. The other one is quite a walk but we took a bus back to our stay.

I haven't skied in Keystone since the built up of River Run. But I keep getting resort and real estate info. There is a small convenience grocery in River run but the larger ones are in Frisco/Dillon.

But there are plenty of restaurants with in walking distance at both locations. Breck is quaint with more "apres ski" life.

Thanks to all for your input. I called and booked the Grand Timber Lodge, got a studio for 55 points. It has 1 queen bed and a queen sleep sofa, mini kitchen, 2 burner stove, refrig, microwave and coffee maker. They are 1/2 block from the base of the lift, and have free shuttle bus to town. (1/2 mile to main street) I will post more after the trip.

Here is a link to their site.
