GRAND OPENING - GRAND CLOSING (Florida)

Yes - it's supposed to help protect others from you. I got called a sheep in the grocery store by a middle aged, obese couple for wearing my mask. I wanted to take it off, get real close, and let them know that I work in a hospital with covid patients and based on their appearance, they wouldn't necessarily do well and they should be happy I'm wearing it. But I refrained. Barely. (I was tired, overworked and cranky and wanted to be anywhere but the grocery store with buttholes, forgive me).

You should have said, "Baaaaaaaaah. I'm smart enough to believe in science. Baaaaaaaaaaah,"

Really, really wanting to do a Florida beach vacation in September.

Was looking like the 7-day rolling average for positive tests was coming down a little, but now starting to increase. Hard to book under these circumstances. 514010

Kentucky closed bars effective tomorrow. And Inside dining back to 25%. I pray it helps.
Other states are looking to do the same. I mentioned on another thread St Louis is rolling back to bars closing at 10pm, restaurants at 25% capacity IIRC and limits to 50. That was one of the ones I remember hearing about. I hadn't realized how bad St. Louis area was hit.

Kansas next to Missouri is also looking at going back but it would be to Phase 2 state wide last I heard they were thinking. Presently they are in Phase 3. Phase 2 would be gatherings down to 15 and bars and nightclubs would be closing. That governor said she would look at the numbers this week to make a decision.

I wouldn't be surprised if this continues state by state or region by region seeing more of this. Wonder if some of the really hard hit states right now will think about that? I highly doubt it though.

I just hope the governor doesn’t get sued and the courts reverse the order

Well if we’re playing how stupid can your state be, here is CA’s recent entry.

They want to worship to their hearts' content, fine with me. Simply quarantine them all. Maybe that will teach them they should have used the brain God gave them.

Nope. Still seeing the flu comparison on various Facebook posts about school starting.
The thing is, ironically they don't even understand that even if it were just another flu, that unless we have covid under control by the time flu season hits, even that would overwhelm hospitals.

I wish my leaders in my state would do the same. Dr Birx was in TN today to warn about our case numbers, percent positivity, and discussed how we we
had the makings of being a major hotspot. She recommended a statewide mask mandate and closing bars and indoor dining...and my idiot governor had a press conference to say no to a mask mandate ( he said there are other strategies that work better?) and that he wasn’t going to shut anything down but thanks for the input😡

Dr. Birx was in KY yesterday

I saw a tweet yesterday from a woman who said she was finally able to track down the results for one of her elderly parents by calling all of the labs processing tests in Florida. She made 3 or 4 calls before she got the correct lab so it seems there is no central number to call.
Yikes! We have the option for results to be sent to an app (much quicker results) or wait for a phone call. Also given a number if they don't come back within a certain time frame.

Is it your whole state of only Nashville? I've read that it is a top hotspot in the country.
