GRAND OPENING - GRAND CLOSING (Florida)

But positive rates are down so its all over right? That's what they seem to think in the rumour thread!
They’re militant about not even wanting to hear about what’s happening. Near record deaths, near record cases, hospitalizations at record highs, one county with 1/3 of the people being tested being positive and everything’s just fine because of a 1 day drop in pop’s overall. And even that number is horrid, just not as horrid as the day before.

Unbelievable.

The 33% claim is bogus. Sleazy Miami politician.

That report is WAY off, according to the Florida Department of Health statistics quoted in the news story I posted above. Both our mayor and CNN tend to be hysterics on this issue, so I'd take their "news" with a grain of salt.

The situation is still bad, but not that bad.
Every news outlet, local and national are giving the same number. Fl does a really good job of making you hunt for official numbers drilled down to county information. But this site, https://www.miamidade.gov/information/library/2020-07-05-new-normal-dashboard.pdf was showing over 25% a few days ago.

That's false. You're relying on the BS of one woman who was fired because of her criminal behavior outside of the workplace.

Actually fired twice -- once by LSU, and the second time by the State of Florida.
But isnt it true FL did withhold some figures for a while, and hospitalization numbers for a long time?

I know. They have their own little disney bubble going on over there. Very worrying how so many people can think like that.

Responding to statement today by Dr. Fauci that Florida opened too soon, the governor says: 'There was no justification to not move forward"

That's a provably false statement (not that it matters as most people don't seem to care). Florida did not meet the criteria to move forward, and yet they did so anyway. And now, Disney is blindly following suit and opening up at the worst possible time. Well, the worst possible time, so far. It's going to get worse.

Too bad that's not the actual definition.
Merriam Webster:
As I said, are you going to a theme park because you're concerned about the workers?

Lol. Seriously, just stop. You’re trying to justify going to WDW during a pandemic that is seeing cases rising alarmingly in its state to a normal vacation. You’re reaching and everyone knows it. There might be other reasons you could come up with to justify it, but this is just not going to be a win for you.

Disney has their eyes wide open.
