I am thinking of trying to get the Grand I after our Intimate wedding for our guests to watch Wishes. How hard is this to get and does anyone know the costs? How far in advanced can you book it? (we're looking for April/May 2007.) How many people will it hold? Does anyone have any pictures of the Grand I inside/outside?

thanks :sunny:

Our travel agent tried to book it for a fireworks cruise after our vow renewal and it had already been booked. You can reserve 90 days out and must call first thing in the morning at 407-824-2439. The Grand I can hold up to 13 people and is currently renting at $400 per hour.

Disney apparantly gets a new boat every year. Ours was different than another bride I know used it. We loved it. For us (12/2005) it was $400 but the pricing does go up, so keep that in mind. Your wedding planner can book it for you!

We really enjoyed doing the Grand I for the two of us.

Do you think the wedding planner could book it before the 90 day mark? That would be great if they could!!

I don't think it can be booked at all before the 90 day mark. And, our WP told us that we would have to book on our own--she couldn't do it. Maybe that is only for intimates--not sure. She said if we were staying concierge, then they would take care of it for us. When I tried to upgrade to concierge for that specific purpose, there was no availability.

A few folks on the Resorts Board have booked it for various functions over the years. One Dis'er in particular comes to mind -- Ducklite (I hope I spelled that right). PM her and ask her for her photos. I think she's got them on-line somewhere.

I'm also thinking of getting the Grand 1...my question is...for a Wishes viewing, when do you board and what time do you actually start "cruising". Wishes will be at 10 PM...so would we board and leave at 9:30??? Thanks!

I had the Grand 1 for my guests after the wedding as a way to say Thank You. I think that everyone enjoyed it although I might be wrong.

Our travel agent booked it for us as the 90 day mark. For boarding we were told to meet it at the dock at 9:15 but it got there at 9:30. It picked us up at the Poly. We cruised around the lagoon before setting down for the fireworks. After the fireworks show it took us back to the Poly dock. I would highly recommend it to everyone!

Correction on the phone number to reserve the Grand I. It is 407-824-2682. It is usually an answering machine where you leave your name, number and the date you are requesting. They will respond to the phone calls in the order they are received.
