Grand Gatherings Wishes Cruise Problem

I have a reservation and paid for a Wishes Grand Gateherings Cruise for 11 people on Feb. 7. The problem is that according to the Disney calender of events there are no fireworks that night. I called to check on it and they cannot figure out how they booked us on a wishes cruise with no fireworks. They are going to call me back when they figure it out. I just hope that it won't mess up the rest of my ps's. I guess it is good to cross check the calendar. It would not be fun to show up with everyone and there is no cruise.

They would still have the cruise - you just wouldn't see fireworks.

Disney makes a point of calling the Illuminations and Wishes Cruises "Specialty Cruises" for just this reason - they have no control over the schedule of fireworks, etc.

I believe the magic gathering cruises are different then the specialty cruises that disney offers. These are special cruises that are for magic gatherings quests only. I am sure if there aren't any fireworks that night they will either offer another night or refund the money. We loves the Wishes magic gathering cruise, and I certainly hope they are able to accomidate your group.

We did the cruise in March. They originaly booked us on a night that they did not run the cruise. They ended up adding a cruise for the night we were booked so it worked out for us.

The exact name of the cruise in question is "Magical Fireworks Voyage". That's what it says on my confirmation sheet.

We have a Magical Fireworks Cruise booked for Sunday, Feb 6th. Is there a chance that they typed the date wrong on your confirmation? I am really nervous about the Grand Gathering Events, everyone says they are great but they then tell you about all their horror stories with the reservations and scheduling. I have about 30 people to answer to if the experience doesn't measure up to!

When we did the cruise in March we were told that they only did the cruise 2 nights a week. So it is possible they have the wrong date listed when they say the 7th. Keep trying to fix the problem, it is well worth it once you get there.
And yes, making the reservation was not that easy. I chalked it up to the program being new, but I guess not.

Does anyone happen to know the two nights a week that they have the cruise. We will be a gathering from 2/8-2/13 and we were hoping to do the cruise. I don't want to waste time on the phone the way the system is now.

I'm sure you have your answer by now, but the Magical Fireworks Voyages are usually scheduled for Saturday and Monday. However, I note that in February they are scheduled for Saturday, Sunday, and Monday.

i too have a wishes fireworks cruise booked for 2/7. i just called the other day & the cm told me that according to the information that she has, wishes is scheduled for 8pm on 2/7! i'm going to call every few days to make sure. let's keep our fingers crossed!

Don't panic yet, although it's hard not to. We had 2 fireworks cruises booked this past Oct. and when we were sure that it wasn't going to rain, we offered one to another DIS member. When she called to change the info she was told that they would not be seeing fireworks. She was kind enough to private message me and let me know that my other cruise wasn't suppose to see fireworks either. I was heartbroken because we had taken both sets of grandparents with us on this trip and we wanted them to experience a fireworks cruise. Well, to make a long story longer...they switched us to a haunted cruise that would see the fireworks and when we showed up at the WL marina not one but two boats were waiting for us. We chose to stick with the haunted cruise but we realized that the people on the phone aren't completely clued in on the schedules.

My advice...don't cancel the cruise until closer to the time. Check the fireworks schedule on the Disney site. GOOD LUCK!!

I believe Wishes is now showing every night in February. this is a change since the calendar was first published. Disney's official site may not be updated yet, but there have been several confirming calls to CMs to verify this.

What is a haunted cruise? I searched the boards, but can't find any reference to it.
