Grand Gathering

Are there any benefits for "Grand Gatherings" besides getting to pay a lot of money for an incredible dining/attraction experience? We're a family of 12 (3 generations), but are spending most of our travel budget on the trip itself. I was planning to treat everyone to a character breakfast and am wondering if I should go for one of the resort breakfasts or pay the extra money for the Grand Gathering. Are there more characters for the Grand Gathering?

nope. Did a grand gatherings a couple of years ago. Other than the special cruises, and other things, the only real benefit is you get a special CM phone agent that handles your plans. You have a special confirmation ( maybe phone number ) number that helps to keep your plans organized and any special things you want to add. I never even used it. We didn't get any kind of perks being in a grand gathering other than ( and we much appreciated it) a few times the CM's making sure our whole group got into attractions together and seated together.

I don't think it costs anything extra to get a Grand Gathering number. Am I wrong??

The biggest benefit I have found is having the special phone number to call. They don't have any special access to anything (ADRs and the like), or so they tell me, but I did find that the wait times were significantly lower on the phone.

We are going as a grand gathering this year,actually next week . There will be 10 of us. We are going to do one of the three grand gathering events offered, the character breakfast at Tony's Town Square. We have the dining plan so one table credit per person will cover the cost (outside of the tip). eight people must attend. Have a great time!

Last year we were a "grand gathering" party of 8 just for one night at CSR with dear friends. It got us connecting rooms (which were not otherwise requested), and we were seated together at meals that may have normally separated us into two tables. We are heading back with these friends for a couple nights in July and "re-upped" as grand gatherers, hoping we can get rooms near eachother again. The kids loved going back and forth between our rooms (at appropriate times of course

Please let me know how the character breakfast at Tony's Town Square is, especially the characters that appear. We don't have the dining plan (yet), because we booked the hotel through the cruise line, but I'm working on it.
