Ok, I am a new member and I booked my reservation with my developers points. I can't even begin to request a GG # until I get my reservation number. It is down to the wire and I have to make my ADR's on 3-20. So I have finally given up on the idea that I could get my reservations number and then get my GG # in time. Anyway, any tips on making reservations for a party of 10? Can anyone tell me what to expect? Will I have to break up our group at most places? Thanks!!

And will someone explain the whole Grand Gathering deal? I have a ressie for 10 in February at AKV.

I thought the Grand Gatherings were events that you could purchase if you had a group of 8 or more and had a Magical Gathering Number. The events are on the Disney site and included Character meals, firework viewing and receptions that only GG groups attend/purchase.
When I booked my ressies through MS I asked for a Magical Gathering Number and was transferred to that group. With a MG# if you have multiple rooms every effort will be made to keep them together. I got e-mail updates as my trip approached.

You can always call or e-mail Member Services for your Reservation #. We also used developers points for our June trip and I was chomping at the bit to make our ADRs. I e-mailed Members Services and had an answer before the canned response was sent back.

About GG, I was a party of 12 two years ago and we ate in several different places and were always sat in one long table or in smaller tables right next to each other. The only place I remember being separated was at CRT.

Good luck with your plans!

I've called three times, they say that the reservations with developers points are done differently, and that they don't have a reservation number for me yet. :confused3

You can make your ADRs anyway, just explain to Disney Dining when you call. In my experience the GG number is sort of useless.

In some places you might indeed be put at two tables to get close to the time you want to dine. We found this was okay and that we did not all need to sit at one large table every single meal...kind of made it easier to talk and also the kids enjoyed having their own table a couple of nights.
