Grand Floridian VS Polynesian August Stay

I'd go with the Poly. I like the 'theming' more and you are within walking distance of the monorail to Epcot. Something to be sad for not having to take a monorail to the monorail.

Leaving cost out of it...was wondering opinions and thoughts.....the good and bad about each resort...we will be traveling with 3 adults but do enjoying swimming at night and going to parks everyday....

You can rent a cabana (full day or half day) for use at the Grand Floridian pool, something which is unavailable at the Poly. We're staying at GF on the last day of our trip, partially for that reason. We have an evening flight out, so we reserved it from 10 - 2, so we can spend our last hours at WDW leisurely enjoying the pools & relaxing in the shade.

We stayed at the Poly for 5 nights in August before our 5 nights at the BC. We enjoyed the Poly very much and had a great room in Fiji that faced the marina. The monorail was awesome. The ambiance was great. We would definitely stay there again but if given a choice between the GF and Poly I would try out the GF. Between BC and GF...I would pick the BC! Especially for 3 adults.

The Poly pool was cold. Everyday of our trip. Like ice cold and I'm NEVER cold. It was crowded but IMO the pool isn't very big at all. They don't have many seats, which made it a pain trying to find a seat even if we got there at 10 am.

My stay at the Poly didn't WOW me like I thought it. I've always loved the resort when eating at Ohana. The BC certainly did WOW me.

I haven't stayed at the Poly in years, but that is because our last visit was so disappointing...grumpy CMs, with the exception of an awesome waiter at Kona Cafe and a pool that was dirty and crowded. Also, after a while the drumming from "Spirit of Aloha" gets to me. I haven't been since the renovation, so maybe it's improved. The monorail to Epcot is the only real plus on the Poly side IMHO. The GF is my favorite WDW resort...CMs who go above and beyond, beautiful, bright, airy lobby, great transportation options, excellent restaurants and gorgeous landscaping. That would definitely be my choice.
