Hi!

So i am not new to the boards, but I just never go on this board....

So at The Gf which I am interested in is expensive for me....

So If i stayed there for a regular standard room with a regular view no magi kingdom view or whatever is it worth it? and nice or should i uprade to a nicer view???

In my opinion, there is no reason, if money is an issue, to pay for a "better" view at the GF. The standard (Garden View or GV) rooms have lovely views - that's what we usually book. They include views of the beautiful resort landscaping, the quiet pool and the marina.

We tried Lagoon View 2x, and while we had a nice view of the Poly and wedding chapel both times, we felt it wasn't worth the extra $500 or so. We are back to booking a GV room for next month's vacation, and we've always been happy.

i agree..... garden view is fine..

we've had the top view there is - concierge in the main building with a view of the castle in the mk...
definitely NOT worth the money...

i enjoyed the room with the garden view (and not concierge) just as much...

actually there is a picture on my website of the view of the castle from our GF room.
there is also a picture of the view from the CR, so don't confuse the two.
The GF view is very very very distant....
they're in the slide show on the upper right hand side of my website (just under "about me")
it takes a minute to load...

Personally, I think the garden views are more in theme with the resort anyway. If you really want to try and get some type of water or park view, there are a couple of hints. For a water view, the Sago Cay building has a number of garden rooms that overlook the marina. There are some garden rooms in Boca Chica that offer a view of the castle through the trees (specifically request Boca Chica, high floor, overlooking Narcoossee's). For a true "garden view" room, I would go with the Conch Key building.

I stayed at the GF for 8 years, once in the main building and the other years in the Sugar Loaf concierge building. The main building has now become prohibitive in cost. The Sugar Loaf building is nice because of the concierge service. There is breakfast served each morning and snacks and drinks available all day. I needed this service since my husband conducts business while we're on vacation, and they take care of all of his faxing and mailing needs, plus having the breakfast right there, a few feet away from my room each morning, means getting out the door to the parks faster. If money is an object, I would advise not to pay extra for a MK view room. How much time will you really be spending in your room? All of the rooms are equally nice and I believe you will be just as happy without the views. An important thing to consider: If you will be going with kids, and you need frequent laundry service, there are machines in a few of the buildings, but not in the Sugar Loaf or main building. It is an important convenience to think about.

I have stayed in Lagoon View (MK View), Garden View, and Main Building Concierge. In my opinion I do not think the lagoon view is worth it if money is tight.

Go with the Garden View, you will love it!!
