There are 2 of us and we are adults.

We will be dining for breakfast at the Grand Floridian Café and have an 11:30 horseback ride. So, we must be there by 11:00.

As of now, our dining reservation is 9am.

Will that give us enough time to eat, monorail to CR, boat to FW, and then bus from the back to the front of FW, in time for our trail ride?

Would monorail from MK make more sense? Or save time?

I moved the reservation a little earlier just in case. Still would like to hear how long it would take to travel from Grand Floridian to the front of Fort Wilderness via monorail, boat and then bus.

You can get a boat to FtW from either MK or CR. I would take the monorail from GF, as the boat to MK goes to Poly before MK, while the monorail is just one stop to MK, and also runs more frequently. I don't know whether it would be faster to get the boat at MK or CR; it would mostly depend on how frequently the boats depart from each.

I think 80 minutes should be a reasonably safe travel time estimate.

The Tri-circle D ranch is out front of Fort Wilderness, so I think your best bet is a cab. If you want to do the transportation "circuit", then you should probably leave around 45 minutes. The boat from CR to FW runs about every 20 minutes, and if you just miss one, you'll be waiting a while. I also can't remember if it goes to Wilderness Lodge before Fort Wilderness, which would add another 15 minutes.

What the previous poster said it correct. Fort Wilderness is HUGE! And I seriously wouldn't believe it either but we were there in April for Mickeys Backyard BBQ. Anyways the place where you go for the trail rides is right in the front of Fort Wilderness right by the parking lot and their lobby area. The place where the boat drops you off is their main stream area. Yes thats where the actual ranch is where you can walk through the stable and they have pony rides there as well, but thats not where the trail rides start from. You need to walk from the boat to the bus stop at Fort Wilderness and then wait for a bus to pick you up from the main area of Fort Wilderness to the front gate area. Which could take 15 - 20 minutes bc the buses stop off at a lot of the campsites in between. So like the previous poster stated I really think your best bet to get there in a timely fashion would more than likely be to take a cab or an uber. Or if you really want to stick with the Disney transportation (I'm not sure about this but you can probably research it). You could take the monorail to the TTC and then hop on a bus to Ft Wilderness. I know Ft Wilderness has buses that go to the TTC from Ft Wilderness, but what I am not sure about is if they have buses that go from TTC to Ft Wilderness. Anyways those would more than likely be your best options.

I am unaware of any buses that go from a WDW to TTC, especially FW. Is this something new?

45 minutes is much too short.

Here are the details of my estimate:

I'm not that familiar with the watercraft service, so my times there may be a little inflated. But Disney recommends allowing 90 minutes when traveling between resorts, so 80 minutes is not out of line. All of the times allow for the usual maximum wait time for each leg; you may wait just 1 minute at each stop and get there 40 minutes sooner, but you can't count on that.

As a PP said, there is no bus service between TTC & FtW. There once was, a long, long time ago (like decades ago.)

There is another route you can take:
  1. Monorail to MK
  2. Bus to WL
  3. Bus to FtW
This might be faster, since you are avoiding the boats. The bus from WL to FtW first goes to the Settlement, which is where the boats dock, but then continues on to the Outpost, where the trail ride is located. Furthermore, in the morning, you may be lucky enough to catch a bus at MK that is going to WL & FtW; those buses stop at WL, and then go directly to FtW Outpost -- but then you'd have a lot of time to kill at the Outpost.
