I'm thinking of suprising my wife during our trip next month with a spa treatment.
I was wondering how do GF spa works. Do they sell packages?
I'm a guy so I know zero about this, but how could I get more info?
Also, do you need reservations? And how about prices?
Is there any discounts for DVC Members?

Any info would help!

Thanks

PS. any suggestions on what myself and our 6 year old can do meanwhile. I was thinking use the pool, since we are DVC and can pool hop.

Here is some information about GF Spa sevices. There are no DVC member discounts that I'm aware of, but there have been DVC discounts at the SSR Spa. (SSR Spa is closed until the resort opens in May, 2004)

Also. here is a thread from the Resorts Board about the Spa.

Enjoy!

Two weeks ago my girlfriend and I treated ourselves to a "girl day" and did the "spa sampler" at the GF. It included a facial, manicure and pediure. It was "ok". I don't like the "community dressing room" and wish there was a more "private" area to change. Also, the day we were there, it was busy and there were not enough chairs for all the clients to sit and wait after changing for their treatments.

I do think the GF spa is a tad overrated and can't wait for the spa at SSR to reopen!!!

I did an Ultimate Relaxation - hydrotherapy bath for 25 minutes followed by 50 minute Swedish massage. It was great. I had Kelly for my therapist. Call now to make a reservation. They open at 8AM, and that's when I had my appointment since we had a late breakfast at Cape May scheduled that day. No discount, just a wonderful experience. This cost $150 plus a tip.

You could also hop over to the MK while your wife relaxes. Or do the 1900 Park Faire breakfast. I liked the quiet pool much better than the pool with the slide because the slide pool was very small and crowded.

Your wife will walk around with a smile on her face after the Ultimate Relaxation treatment.

I've done the Spa Pedicure a couple of times and it was great. This past visit, I did that treatment and my 6yo DD did the "My first manicure/pedicure" at the same time, while my husband had the Swedish massage. We were all smiling when we left. It came to $220 plus tip for all of us. FYI: my DD was done in the same room as my pedicure at the same time so she wasn't frightened about being alone with strangers. It was fun to watch her getting her treatment.

I used the GF spa last jan and was really disappointed in the staff and the spa. They didn't have robes to fit me, I am a size 20 and they told me to wait for my attendant to come for me. I waited a 1/2 hour after my appointment an still no one. I was about to leave when she came, no apology. I have had better.

The massage was good, just the atmosphere stunk. they are not owned by disney they lease the building, that may make the diffrence.
