But is there any chance that some of the rooms already at the GF would become part of the new Villas At The Grand Floridian (VGF)?? Kinda like what they did at Jambo House Animal Kingdom?

I am so excited! Even though I knew they had to be building DVC at the GF it's still great to get the official word. Anyone else surprised they announced so early? I mean even when BLT was built they denied it was DVC.

I have until 2013 to save my money because we will definitely be adding on at the VGF!! I'm just afraid to see how much I will need

At the Annual Meeting, tjkraz tweeted that Disney said the Villas at Grand Floridian would open in 2014. However, the news item on dvcmember.com says VGF will open late 2013.

DVD is just now breaking ground for VGF. Can they build a 147-unit resort in 24 months?

If that is the case, she still has a LOOOOOONG way to go to catch up to Jim Lewis and his MAJOR mistakes, after mistakes, after mistakes...

I think there are plans to incorporate existing rooms from the main building, such as AKV. If this is so then they could start booking as early as 2013.

The announcement is up on DVC member.com and it says late 2013. I'll be calling the day they open 7 mos reservations - great stay for checking out the new Fantasyland.

When the new luxury Four Seasons opens up, demand for hotel rooms at the Grand Floridian may lessen, so some GF rooms may get converted to DVC, just like Jambo House.

Just read on Facebook that Four Seasons is opening in 2014......

When construction is finished, Four Seasons Resort Orlando at Walt Disney World will have 444-rooms, three pools, a “lazy river” and of course, a spa with 18 treatment rooms for you to enjoy. There will be several sport facilities, including tennis courts, a climbing wall and more.

The resort is scheduled to open in 2014.

We love the GF! We are super excited to do a little add on so we can stay at the GFV a few nights on our trips, great to do a couple nights by the MK and then a few by Epcot and DHS.
