Does anyone know what the difference in the two rooms are? i don't care if they are rectangles or octogons :rolleyes1 Do they have jacuzzis and concierge service? Where are they located??

If I get really lucky, does anyone have any pictures of them?

Thanks,

Melissa

There are two types: one is a regular room in a private area of the second floor called the Clarendon Level. These rooms have regular sized jacuzzi baths and balconies with a view of the Magic Kingdom. We had one of these rooms and it was very nice. To get to them from the main part of the building you need to take the elevator to the 4th floor go down a hallway and take another elevator to the second floor (the only drawback I found).

I've heard other people prefer the octagon rooms which are larger and are in the turrets on I believe the 3rd, 4th and 5th floors (?). These do not have balconies or jacuzzis but do have a wall of windows, a wet bar and large walk-in closets. I think a couple of those rooms have Magic Kingdom views but not sure.

Both have concierge services - the concierge lounge is located on the fourth floor overlooking the lobby and is wonderful to sit at and listen to the band play.

I found some good pictures of the honeymoon rooms at www.ourlaughingplace.com under the resorts section, and also a couple at www.wdwig.com. Good luck choosing.

We got pixie dusted the last time we were there (June 1 - 6) and were upgraded to one of the honeymoon rooms on the 2nd floor.

They are a bit difficult to get to, but very secluded and quiet.

Other than a couple of staff members, I would have thought we were the only ones staying in that section.

We had a picture perfect view of the Castle.

These rooms are part of the Royal Palm Club in the main lodge.

LOLOL! I was all excited to read that you had pictures, but ummm... I was hoping for something a little more romantic! :rotfl2:

All honeymoon suites are located in the main building and come with concierge. I believe there are 10 suites located on the 2nd floor, right above Gasparillas Grill, overlooking the marina. These have king beds, jacuzzi tubs, full balcony and a castle view. Room size is the same as a standard.

There are 6 turret honeymoon suites, 2 on the 3rd floor, 2 on the 4th and 2 on the 5th. Each has 8 big windows that offer a panoramic view, but no balcony. The room contains a king bed, couch with 2 chairs, table and chairs, wet bar, walk in closet, hallway, no jacuzzi, but a tub that's big enough for 2. These rooms are about twice the size of a standard.

I have stayed in a turret suite, but not a 2nd floor honeymoon suite. You can find pictures of the turret suite here, GF Pictures. Take a look at pictures 11-20.

Hi Tammi, thank you very much. I thought the 2nd floor Honeymoon suites had sitting rooms too, but it sounds like it doesn't?

Do you know if the Turret honeymoon suites are all in the Main building?

thank you so much,

Melissa

The 2nd floor honeymoon rooms have a sitting area, not a sitting room. MrDisney can confirm the setup, but I think that it's a sofa, plus the table and 2 chairs. In a normal standard room, there's enough space for 2 double beds, plus a daybed and the table & chairs. Just change that setup to a king bed, sofa, table & chairs and I think you've got the idea. Space wise though, it's the same square footage of a standard room. The difference between booking a standard concierge room and a honeymoon suite is that you're guaranteed a king bed and unless you request a turret honeymoon style, you're also guaranteed a castle view.

Yes, all turret honeymoon suites are in the main building. 2 rooms are located on the 3rd floor, 2 on the 4th and 2 on the 5th. There are two views offered with this room. The first is a panoramic view from the monoral, across the Poly and the Wedding Chapel to the GF beach and lagoon. The second view is from the Poly across the GF courtyard to the castle.

What wonderful pictures and information on this thread. I have upgraded our room to a honeymoon suite to be certain we have a king bed. We have ask for a water view. Do you have any idea which suite they would give us.

Tammy Which view do you prefer? The room without a balcony but windows all around, or the smaller room with a balcony?

I really don't want to go up in one elevator and walk down a hallway and down another elevator.

Any suggestions will be appreciated. :earsgirl:

All the honeymoon suites have a water view. The ones that overlook the castle, are right over the marina and the turret rooms look over the lagoon. Unless you request a turret room specifically, you will most likely be assigned one on the 2nd floor.

I love balconies and really thought that I would miss having one. After I saw the size of the turret room though, I couldn't have cared less. I'll show you how classy I am, I pulled one of the nice comfortable chairs over to the window, opened it up and put my feet up on it (no screens). I got some air and a great view of the castle changing colors. If you want to use a balcony, there's a good sized one located on the 3rd floor. In all the times I've been to the GF, I've never seen anyone out there.

If you want a turret style honeymoon suite, just e-mail the IPO staff and have them notate it on your reservation. It's not guaranteed however.
