As a treat for my wife, Donna, I am thinking of taking her and our son John, aka Dr Who, for tea at the Grand Floridian. Has anyone been and is it good? I have seen the menus but am no expert as I don't drink tea or eat scones.:confused3
72 days to go.

I have been three times, and love it, you can either do one of the "packages" or mix and match.
It's the GF so what ever you want they will do, beleive me when we go we never have a stright forward order!!!!!
The trifle and strawberries with extra, extra cream always go down very well in my family, and I have non tea drinkers too.

It's a very pleasant diversion - we thoroughly enjoyed it when we did it for the first time last October. It really is just English afternoon tea, though and the portions aren't huge - we did it in place of lunch, which worked well, but it wouldn't replace your main meal of the day. The platters come pre-plated and then you get to choose two small cakes from the stand. You can have coffee in place of tea.

We really enjoyed it and have done it a couple of times now. It's a nice change from the normal eating places in WDW. We had intended to eat dinner and had to cancel because we were still so full.

We had our wedding reception there and it was great.I cannot figure out how to upload images so I cannot post any pics but as the others say it is very nice and makes you feel very grand la de da:thumbsup2

We did the tea a few weeks back and as I dont drink tea either I had a sprite:rotfl2:

It is very relaxing.

We had the Buckingham Palace tea which is plated sandwiches, scones and then a choice of 2 cakes.

im not a tea drinker, so I had coffee when i went, took MIL and had the scones it was great, would def do this again, theres a good choice, and they will happily subsitute things for you.

I think I would like to take my Mom to this as a special treat, where can I find out the costs and menu info?

Do they allow guests in in 'Park Attire'? and can you just walk in here or do you need a res?

Might try it next week. (Did I mention I fly on Saturday:woohoo: )

I am interested to know this too! If we can get in I think we will go for the Buckingham Palace menu! sounds yummy!

Park attire is fine, but it's popular, so I'd recommend making an ADR.
