Grand Floridian DVC Info, Speculation, and Update Thread - Part 1!

Thank you for the picture, Sammie! I spent an evening at GF with friends a few weeks ago enjoying the live music. I cannot wait for the villas to open, so that experience will be just a walk away.:goodvibes

Woo Hoo!!! Thanks for the update!!

Wooo hoo..cmon Disney! :goodvibes Start selling in time for everyone to do something foolish with their tax refunds :lmao:

:rotfl:

Love GF and cant wait to book a villa at the newest DVC! We bought BLT in 2009 because we didnt think there would be a GF DVC. Not upset though, because can't beat being able to walk to MK, and the $98 per point for BLT vs whatever VGF will be a bargain.

Looks like it might be a partial since it is only 5100 weeks which translates to 98 units

I see that The Florida Department of Business & Professional Regulation has approved the timeshare license for the Villas at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort. Wonder how long now before it goes on sale?

What does that mean ?

I do not understand what you are saying.

Thanks.

I think that there are suppose to be 140+ units built. The license appears to be for only 98 units. That could mean that they might be selling fixed weeks on a separate license or maybe keeping villas for themselves or something else.

It's likely only the initial phase and will probably be amended once sales start.

The initial filing for BLT was for 3825 TS weeks and was amended five times to add additional TS weeks.

It could also mean that DVD, as is its custom, will initially declare (and sell) only a portion of the resort for the DVC membership.

Thanks for your quick response--
now I understand.

The GF is very beautiful and I am hoping it will not be to expensive.
Also hope that it will have a Club Level like AKL Jambo.

I hope that they don't have CL, at least not the way they do now at Jambo. CL resort owners pay higher dues to provide CL to others staying there. Not a fair system IMO.

My guess as to why they only liscenced for 98 was that that is the major portion that met the % complete to have the sales liscence granted (guessing it was thefront section)

Do you think they will offer the extra services that they give you at the GF like the turn down service at night or any special perks to get people to buy there?

I don't but you never know.

:offtopic: Sorry if I am off topic, but I have seen Bill mention this a number of times. I just wanted to ask you Bill, how do we know this? Is it stated in our yearly dues breakdown? Just wondering, because I would agree with you that DVC dues should not be offsetting CL for Cash Guests.
