gRAND fLORIDIAN cAFE???

Just looking for some opinions on this restaurant. I looked @ the menu seems like it has some decent dishes, and just wanted to get some feedback from the crowd.

we ate at GFC last september twice

crab cakes were excellent

i had prime rib - DH had steak & shrimp combo - very good

we shared the dessert sampler

really liked the atmosphere there - very "english country garden" - pretty view out the windows - got there early, so it was still quiet

we'd go back

I just called to make my dining reservations for August and was told since they are remodeling 1900 Park Fare that I couldn't make a regular reservation only a 1900 Park Fare character dinner reservation.

there are lots of threads on this plae, I think i wrote on one yesterday, so you may want to do a search. I perosnally love this place, one of my favorites. have had breakfast, lunch, and dinner and love it all

Was this for dinner? I called for lunch at GFC during the 1900 Park Faire renovations, and they said that GFC will be serving lunch as usual. I was a bit disappointed because I thought I'd read that GFC would be closed for lunch, and that lunch would be served at Citricos. Actually I had wanted to see Citricos, but GFC looks lovely too.

My mom's favorite place to eat at WDW is GFC. I called to get a ressie for our late September trip, and they gave me a ressie for Citrico's during lunch. I have read this somewhere else to, and the CM said they will be serving the GFC menu. I think I will call tomorrow to get another confirmation on that ressie. Well, I guess it has to be correct though b/c GFC is not serving lunch during the renovations due to 1900 PF not ever serving lunch, right? Oh sorry, I'm sure this was all a bit confusing.

Anyway, GFC is a really nice place. My mom LOVES the fancy type of food and you can't beat it for 1 TS credit. The atmosphere is also fantastic! You should definitely try it!
