Curious about the Grand Floridian Cafe for dinner. I haven't seen many reviews or pics. Would love to hear opinions and see pics! Thanks. :sunny:

My mum and I went there last year. We got there about 30 mins after closing but the chef was nice enough to prepare 2 last meals for us. We really did appreciate it but our food left a lot to be desired. I ordered the prime rib, ordered it well done and it came to me red inside. My mom said that her food wasn't very good either. It could very well have been simply because we were so late and the chef was in a hurry but the food just didn't seem all that great. I'm sure you'll hear reviews from both sides of the fence though.

ps. I think there's a thread with food photos, they might have some of the food there, if not, I'm sure someone else can help you out.

One of WDW's most underrated and hence quietest restaurants. Nothing outstanding: just the usual items prepared with grace, served by an attentive staff. When we lunched here in December, our server took great pride in telling us that the GF Cafe was "the best restaurant in Disney World nobody makes reservations for."

Not impressed. The waitress was actually bad, which is very very unusual for WDW. Most CMs are wonderful.

Food was good.

We love the GF Cafe. We go most often for lunch but have had dinner there a few times over the years.

It is a beautiful restaurant. Our food has always been very good and with one exception the service has been great. This is out of maybe 20 or more experiences.

briar rose, that review sounds a bit like no good deed goes unpunished. ;) But I can tell you were trying to be fair. And if they are going to bend the times, you do expect to get a good meal anyway. I hope you try it again sometime. :sunny:

DH and I where there in May and it was our best meal. I had the Strip Steak and DH had the Land and Sea. Our steaks were perfect, juicey, tender, and hot. Our dinner there was better than at Le Cellier. Our waitress was wonderful, one of the best we have ever had. I have pictures of our meals there, I just have to figure out how to upload them. If you have any questions please PM me.

DH and I both said this is a must do on our next trip.

Thanks for all of the feedback. I saw the menu and the pics on allears, but there is so little talk and so few pics in comparison with other restaurants, I thought I would ask for your opinions. They've been great and helpful!

love it! last trip we ate there twice (we stayed at GF so it was very convenient!) its usually pretty quiet and it is so bright and cheery, try it! they have good breakfast food too! :upsidedow

I keep wanting to give it a try so I think now I might have to re-do my ADRs once again!

We have eaten at the GF Cafe a few times for lunch and dinner and always enjoyed our meal. The decor is lovely and the atmosphere is quiet and comfortable.

Hmmm...I'm actually pretty interested in this place...are ADRs a must here? or if we happen to come over from Magic Kingdom will we have a good shot of getting a table?

We had both breakfast and dinner there. I will say this very unrated restaurant. The food was very good and as the was the service. I ordered the prime rib for dinner and it was cooked right the way I ordered it.

For breakfast my DH ordered very unusal brekafast. I they a had Japennese breakfast. I said it was very good. He doesn't mind trying new food.

We had my daughter's 26th birthday celebration at the Grand Floridian Cafe on June 6 of this year and I would give them an A.
Service was outstanding. Food was some of the best we had. The atmosphere was quiet and relaxing. I had arranged to have a Cinderella's slipper cake delivered to our table. When it arrived they took 2 pictures, one of her with the surprise on her face and the other with her posing with the cake. GF Cafe is now on our must do list for future trips to WDW

well it depends on when you are going. I am going in January and probbaly wont make an ADR since we are staying at the GF, it will be one of those meals we just kind of up and do one day. A lot of ppl dont know about it, and it is very underrated so you probably have a good chance of going without and ADR
