Grand Floridian Cafe

We will be going in August on the week of our anniversary with the kids. I was considering the Grand Floridian Cafe for our anniversary dinner. Any opinions on this restaurant. Also I wanted to suprise hubby with a cake, I have heard about a bakery in the Grand Floridian. How do you go about getting anything from there?

Although I LOVE LOVE LOVE the GF Cafe for both breakfast and lunch (lots of great sandwiches), I really don't care for dinner there. We found their dinner entrees to be quite bland. It's weird. I would personally rather go to some place like Narcoosee's for my anniversary dinner (also at the GF).

You might want to head over to the Wedding board and ask them about the cake if you don't get any advice here--a lot of the brides have bought cakes from the GF Bakery and had them brought to a restaurant.

Since we will have the kids with us I just wanted something simple and nice. Plus Narcoosee's looks like the menu would not appeal to hubby. MEN!

My wife and myself ate at the Grand Floridian Cafe for the first time this past December and really liked it. The food and service were both very good. I would ask for the phone number of the bakery when you make your ADR. You could order something from them and let them know what time your ADR is for and they will have it waiting for you.

We're having my dd's birthday lunch at GF Cafe in Oct. I'll be having a cake for her then. I was given this number to call...407-824-2578. I believe it is for the GF bakery. They should be able to give you some good suggestions as to what kind of cake you can have. And, I believe you have to give them several days notice, but no more than a week.
