Another consideration is room size. We LOVE GCH, so much so that we bought into the villas. We also haven't stayed at Hojo, but from pictures I've seen on the Dis, Hojo seems more spacious.

GCH will also give you MM during your stay.

I stayed at the GCH for one night just to say I did and while it's a beautiful hotel and good service, the room was very small for what you get. The HOJO seemed like a nice hotel and I met quite a few people in the parks who said the loved staying there. Plus the HOJO main pool stays open late compared to the 10 pm closing of the pools at the GCH.

It's all up the person and what you want to spend. If you have the money and won't be bothered by spending it, then go for the GCH. If I was on a budget somewhat and wanted the extra room, I would stay at the HOJO. For what I paid for one night at the GCH, I could have gotten two connecting rooms at the HOJO. Plus you have cheaper dinning options near the HOJO.

You will get different opinions - for example, for some people an extra $2000 is not a big deal, but to others it's a deal-breaker

The GCH is lovely, for me - not $2000 extra lovely.
