Grand Californian Villa's - Opening September 23rd

Sorry if this has been reported but I just got off the phone with MS and learned that the Villa's at Grand Californian will be accepting reservations for stays starting on September 23rd. This was about two months earlier than was posted on their website of November 30th.

Owners at VGC can book starting June 7th I believe and non-owners can call and start booking June 21st.

Ironically I was calling to book a non-DVC room for stays during Thanksgiving week as they had originally posted that the Villa's would not open until November 30th (after our trip) when I learned of this. So I am holding off to book a Villa till June 21st (hopefully there will still be availability at that time) and if not I can go ahead and fork out the extra points for a non-DVC/Villa room as it appears tons of availability still left (per MS).

With construction moving ahead of schedule on The Villas at Disney's Grand Californian Hotel® & Spa at the Disneyland® Resort in Anaheim, the new accommodations now are slated to open on Sept. 23, 2009. On June 7, Member Services will begin accepting reservations from owners of The Villas at Disney's Grand Californian Hotel using their Home Resort Vacation Points. Vacation Point reservations will open to all Members on June 21.
Members and Guests may make cash reservations within 60 days of their check-in date.

Thanks - I updated the original post with the correct date. I didn't realize they had updated the website either. I looked about two weeks ago when I started planning our Thanksgiving vacation and talked with MS at that time as well and they weren't given any dates. I'm very happy that this may work out for us.

Again thanks for letting me know I got the dates wrong.

Originally I had no intention of going back to DL this year, but now I may have to get in a quick Trick or Treat trip. Darn they get us everytime!

Does anyone know if developer points can be used for reservations prior to November 30? I know they expire October 3, but there are a few days they might work???

No you cannot use DP for the DVC villas, but you could use them for the hotel rooms.
