Grand Californian on Points

We booked the ABD Backstage Magic for next year and wanted to add an extra night at the GC. Cash ressie is over $500 for a Friday night! I don't see the GC (hotel room not villas) in the Disney Collection. Why is that?

You can't book at hotel room at the Grand Californian on points because they have the villas there.

Thanks, Michael. It's just wierd that you can get a studio at VGC for 24 pts (about $125) vs a cash hotel room ressie for over $500...

Some people have reported calling and getting a GC hotel room on points. It's much higher than a studio though points wise. Higher than the DLH. It's more points because DVC has to send a room to CRO to rent to the general public to pay for it, there are expenses involved.

Being a GCV owner, getting the hotel side is not an option. You can however, if you purchased your points thru Disney and not resale, book either at the Paradise or Disneyland Hotels using your points. You will not be charged the $95 processing fee for these hotels like you would at WDW hotels.
