Can anyone give us a comparison of the standard view, etc. at this hotel?
Thanks

Well, I'm sitting in a standard view right now - the front of the hotel. Those rooms and the ones that overlook the courtyard that the monorail goes through are considered standard rooms. The view from the front of the hotel overlooks the Disneyland and Paradise Pier resorts, as well as a view of the construction of the new wing with the villas. The pool views are also DCA views and the Downtown Disney views are just that. Concierge views are standard and DTD.

On my previous trip, I had a DTD view. It was simply amazing! We could see all of DTD, and we could even see the DL fireworks! Also with that view you can look down and see/ hear the DTD street performers which was one of the best parts! It was a bit of a hike to the room, but for the view and all the other stuff it was well worth it. For some pics and more details you can check out my trip report

Concierge views are also DCA.

We booked a standard view and got DTD view. Hope they don't charge me for those extra points. I had to wait while the CM checked room availability. My DD says that they sold hotel packages for the 1/2 marathon, so maybe we just got some pixie dust our way.

Maybe we took your standard and you got bumped up!!! :rotfl:
I've never been charge more points by the hotel for a change/upgrade. They have no ability to do that, so it was definitely some Pixie Dust! We do like the DTD views with the evening music. It adds a nice experience and isn't even the highest cost of a view - a bargain, really!

I forgot about the concierge ones on the other side. Had a brain fart with everything today.

We'll be cheering the runners tomorrow in DTD across from Libby Liu. Come by and say hi!

Were you there? I barely made it out to DTD before they closed it off from the GCH. Saw my DD start and then coming out of the MK, walked to the Family reunion area and never made it back. my DH made an attempt to go back to the hotel but it was too long of a walk back. Next year I told my DD, we'll book a DLH room it would be closer and easier to get into and out of during the race.

Hope you have a great time, we're home...resting :)

Our standard rooms have been the courtyard view. A few times we've been right over the monorail.

We had the standard view over the monorail. It was actually quite pleasant! A nice quiet garden courtyard with the occasional monorail running through. I didn't notice much noise from the monorail either, so it wasn't at all disruptive.

Thanks everyone. We hope to visit there next Sept (late) on DVC points. We have never been to California.

We leave Friday for DL - using points for standard view - I'll let you know what we end up with. :) it's only our 2nd time to DL, our first at GC - so we're very new, too.
