I saw somewhere else that the Grand Californian was evacuated for fire this evening. Anyone there who can confirm?

What exactly happened at the Grand Californian to cause an evacuation? I don't recall hearing about a fire in Disneyland or DCA? My guess is that some guest pulled the fire alarm by accident? Because when I have stayed in hotels this always used to happen. Or they were testing the fire alarm systems today because all hotels have to do this. Did anyone get any calls regarding fire alarm testing at all today when you were there?

Did the Grand Californian Hotel say what was the cause of the false fire alarm yesterday? I'm curious to know?

The report from another site says that 5 fire trucks came and a CM talked with them out front for a couple minutes and they left. All guests were allowed to enter the building right after that.

Five fire trucks came to the Grand Californian Hotel? I wonder if they had to do what they call an audible fire drill? Because all hotels have to do this type of fire drill and there may be one or two fire alarms sounding and the fire department has to always be there to reassure guests and keep them calm and provide them with earplugs if anyone needs them. I learned about this from my mom because she used to work at a hotel and her hotel had to do things like this in an emergency. I'm glad everything turned out alright for the guests at Grand Californian Hotel

Yes, there was a fire alarm at the Grand Californian on Friday night. My family was at dinner at Storyteller’s when the alarm sounded, fairly quietly. It took a few minutes before we were asked by restaurant staff to evacuate. We were directed through the lobby and then out the front door and into the outer car area (so the fire trucks could enter the inner area). I couldn’t see completely, but 5 vehicles, including a car or two, sounds reasonable.

We were allowed back in within a few minutes after the fire vehicles arrived. So it was probably either a false alarm or a small fire that was extinguished quickly and just had to be checked to be sure it was out.
