Grand Californian 2 Bedroom renovation status

I'm going to VGC in May. Has anyone stayed in a 2 bedroom DVC villa recently? More importantly for me, does anyone know which ones have already been renovated? I would really like a murphy bed and not a pull-out sofa in the living room now that my mother-in-law has decided to join us. Is there anywhere I can check to see which rooms have been renovated?

Also, as a first timer - can anyone share some VGC secrets? I'm looking forward to enjoying the Hearthstone Lounge, but unfortunately it looks like the Napa Rose will still be closed. Storytellers looks like it will be open - Yay. Any nooks and crannies that many overlook? Appreciate any feedback.

If you can't get a reservation at Storytellers, Hearthstone or Craftsman, use the App to request a walk up request. Mine have come through quickly. It might say 45 minutes from expected seating time, but often you'll be notified way before that and you only have 10 minutes to check in before it's released. I'll shop the lobby store or sit in the rocking chairs while I wait for the notification. That way, I am close enough to check in on time.

There's a snack cart in the lobby with seasonal treats and cookie shots (a shot of alcohol or milk in a cookie shot glass). Those are fun.

I don't think the renovations will be completed until 2026, The resort needs to update the DVC rooms badly... Napa rose started referb as well.

The refurb warnings are off the website. They seem to be done. Bathrooms were not touched. I just checked out. But the room looked nice. Cabinets were either refaced or refreshed- not replaced. Usb chargers on the alarm clock. This is for a studio.

I was there the week of April 27th. I was told by the cast member in the DVC office that the referb had just been completed and that there were no plans to renovate the bathrooms.

I have a 2 bedroom DVC rented for first part of October. Are all 2 bedroom DVC villas at DGC with great views? Or do I need to specifically ask? I mind pool or park view: just not excited about getting a parking lot! Any tips to avoid that would be greatly appreciated.

There’s no parking lot views in the villas. They are all (mostly?) pool, theme park, woods views. If you want more of a view than a wall/walkway, you could ask for higher floor.

Well dang the bathroom just really pulls down the room. They couldn’t replace the shower heads?!
