Grand Cal one bedroom suite...

Have any of you Disers ever stayed in one? Is the couch in the living room a pull out one? My family's planning our next trip there, and we really want to stay at Grand Cal. We've just never stayed in a suite before. There will be more people coming on this trip, and we all want to be together.

If you're referring to the Villas at the GC 1 bedroom suite, we've stayed there. In the living room there is a queen pull-out couch from the sofa which is memory foam so pretty comfy - not like a spring mattress, in addition there is also a pull-down twin murphy bed under the television which is also memory foam and my friends prefer that to the pull-out, mostly because its easier to put away during the day. Also the full kitchen + full sized washer-dryer in room is nice.
Not sure if they have 1 bedrooms elsewhere in the GC but I haven't heard of them.
The VGC 1 bedrooms sleep 5 and the 2 bedrooms sleep 9 with the pull-out and murphy bed plus the second bedroom has two queens if dedicated, a queen and a pullout if non-dedicated.

We had stayed in a 1 bedroom suite while the DVC rooms were still under construction. The room was very close to the Downtown Disney area and quite loud at night.
Initially we were going to stay in a regular hotel room there, myself, husband, 2 kids and my sister. Needless to say after the first night, it wasn't happening for a 2nd. We got moved to a 1 bedroom suite which had a living room of sorts with a pull-out sofa bed, bath and large master with a king bed. I can't recall but I don't believe there was any sort of kitchenette.

You'll love the one bedroom villa. Besides the sofa bed and the murphy bed in the living room, there is also a full kitchen, a washer / dryer and two bathrooms in the villa.

The GCH does have 1,2,3 bedroom suites. No kitchenette in the one bedroom, very spendy.
