I just hope if I ever want more points, at that time the prices are decent. But I think 160 should be good for us a for a while. I bet we'd to a WDW contract before doing more VGC.

You can always get VDH direct and then use the points at WDW if you go to DL the vast majority of the time.

I just laughed and went to BMW to buy @ MSRP. I used to always look at invoice + a certain markup, but that was not the world we lived in 2022.

Of course, I sold my a Volvo XC90 plug-in hybrid for basically what I paid for it…. So everything worked out.
I personally detest the process of buying a new car. I don’t plan on doing it for another 10 years!

Nah. I think we'll probably pick a resort we like at WDW and buy resale for it so we can book at the 11 month mark. But that's only if we think we'll want to go often enough to justify it. Likely just using banking/borrowing if we can get a small contract. But who knows, I guess!

I can't see my husband ever wanting to stay at VDH. We do plan to walk over there and wander around a bit during our next visit just to see what the vibe is.

ETA - I saw there is a community meeting for DisneylandForward this weekend. If park expansion around the Disneyland hotel really happened, that makes VDH much more appealing. However, I'll probably be too old by then. I wonder if that expansion would make my VGC contract worth more if I need to sell it in 20 years. Ha!

Same! So awful. I have a 2012 Subaru Outback that I'm hoping will last me a few more years until I hopefully find an EV that appeals to me. Or at least a hybrid, I guess.

This would be a great time for Anaheim to play ball with Disney and differentiate itself from the current mess with the FL governors office.

Would love to see a more robust DLand via Disney Forward.

I'm not sure "Forward" could be completed by then. ;)

I’m not bullish on DL Foreward. Too many hurdles with CA and Anaheim politics. And it costs like a bajilion dollars to build in CA
I think the only real way is a major housing crisis where disney can aquire a bunch of housing/land and really make a difference.
Imagine 2 more parks to the west!!!

No way in hell. Disney will build a new park in Texas before they build a 3rd or 4th gate in Anaheim. Disney sealed its fate when he bought as much land as he could afford. Any real future growth will haveto be in Florida, if they can figure out this whole RCID mess.

Yeah, I don't see a proper 3rd park ever happening in Anaheim. I do think they will eventually find a way to expand the parks into the area they own to the west like in the concept drawing. But I don't think it will be for a long, long time. Makes me sad that I probably won't get to experience it.

I am curious to find out what their Avatar plans are. I've heard so many theories so who knows. I just hope they don't get rid of areas I like in the parks!

It’ll probably be a store in DTD with characters and VR goggles. They simply don’t have any real estate to build something remotely resembling Pandora at AK.

Disney has the land with the DisneyForward plans and the acquired ToyStory lot land.

Anaheim wants to spread out the wealth and not be dependent on Disney alone -- ocV!BE project that they approved and the continued Angel Stadium drama.

One thing they learned with Covid19 though. Where Disney goes; so does Anaheim. Shut down the park? Conventions go away too.

So they will want to balance things. I can see DisForward moving along with the expansions and development of ToyStory lot -- decades, but will happen. Lots of new upscale hotel capacity came online and they need quality reliable entertainment spots.

Stage 12 lot is available - extra store retail utilized right now

Yeah, my mind keeps drifting to that area too. They could easily bulldoze the whole area and build a mini Pandora with FoP. No one would miss Monsters Inc or anything else there if Pandora was the replacement. Don't need to bring Navi River. It would fit in DCA too since it's a hodgepodge of quasi-Disney IPs already.

As a VGC owner I don’t love the idea, but some have hypothesized a retheming of the Redwood Creek and Little Mermaid into Avatar.

They have the Toy Story Lot property, outlined in red, as well as enough land along Manchester and Clementine (and several of the hotels on Harbor), outlined in purple, that could be converted from on-grade parking to parking structures with direct access from the 5 freeway.. For reference, the practical area of DCA is outlined in yellow. All land currently owned by The Walt Disney Company.
