Grand Adventures in Cooking??

I guess this would be the most appropriate place to ask about this one. Has anyone done the Grand Adventures in Cooking with their children?

What do they do? What do they make? What do they eat? And, do you have to leave your child? How does it work, any feedback would be deeply appreciated

I just scheduled my daughter for Oct. I think it was $25.00 and they do it on Tuesday and Friday. They decorate a chef hat and apron with handprint, then hear a story about the "food" they will create. Then they put on their chef attire and pass out the snacks to guests at the GF. You do not go in with your child, it's only a few hours and they will come out. We did Pirate Cruise last year and DD still talks about it and wanted to do it again this year, but decided to try something different.

we did it 2 weeks ago & my daughters loved it (5,7) the make apron, hats and made cookies. They then shared them with people in the lobby.

My daughter is scheduled for October also! It will be her first time at Grand Adventures in Cooking (she's done the Tea Party three times - LOVED it; and the Pirate Cruise once - had fun, but said it was hot).

She'll be doing the Tea Party again this time too - its a lot of fun! She is getting excited about decorating her hat and apron - and she loves to help me cook. Can't wait!

From what I've read, they cook something related to the story that they read (cookies, muffins, etc.)

My DS, 6, did the Grand Advenutre in Cooking last year & loved it! It's held in the children's club @ the GF; the kids are taken in by a CM & meet up with Chef Drew, who tells them a story, helps them decorate their chef's apron (it's a real cloth one that they decorate with their multi-color painted handprints) & their chef's hat (paper); he then has everyone wash up (they stress the importance of hand-washing), and they make the baked item of the day. When my DS did it, they made little Butterfinger tarts (the tart shell was some type of shortbread cookie dough & the filling was like a Butterfinger cheesecake); the kids then place them on plates, and onto a pastry cart & they all make a grand entrance into the GF lobby w/Chef Drew where they hand out samples to family & guests.
My DS got a big kick out of it & has asked to do it again; he's also done the Pirate Cruise & says Grand Adventure in Cooking is better!!

We did this this past April. My DD is 7 years old and she loved it.
You drop off at the kids club in the GF (they provide you a
pager in case they need you to return before the end of the
program). Each child was provided a cloth apron and paper
chef's hat to decorate. Since it was also Easter, they
decorated easter cookies. You pick-up in the atrium area of
the GF - the kids (and staff) roll in a cart with their creations and
serve food to their parents, the staff, and other hotel guests.

This activity is on our do-again list.
