Would like so information on Grand Adventures in Cooking. Was thinking of letting my DD do this when we stay at the GF in June, but not sure of what it really is. I've read alittle about it on AllEars but thought maybe someone who has taken their child would have more info.
Thanks,

DD did it last year. She got to decorate an apron (cloth) and a chef hat (paper) Then they made bugs in mud (pudding with gummy worms) they then passed out their treats around the GF lobby and of course to the parents. DD loved it, it was a good time. She was 7 and one of the oldest there. At 6 she was one of the oldest on the Pirate Cruise as well...she really loved that and still talks about it.

Wow ceecee, that sounds so cool! My DD is almost 6. What is the age range? How much does it cost? is it only on a cetain day? what time?

Heehee, sorry about all the questions...I have just never heard of this and my DD would love it!

DS who is four did this earlier this month. Hard to get a clear picture of what went on from a four year old...but he says really did enjoy it! He also made a dirt pie with the pudding and gummy worms. I' ve read discussion on these boards that other kids have made other things.

Here is a slideshow of a few of my Grand Adventures In Cooking Class photos: click here. My daughter has done the class quite a few times now. She always has had the best time.

Janet-Thank you SO MUCH for sharing those photos! I felt like I was there...I love all the candid shots. Looks like a blast. Hmmmm, even if I don't put DD in the class THIS trip...maybe I'll make a point to be in the GF lobby after class time! LOL! Those cookies look GREAT!

Just a note about the age restrictions. I was told that the minimum age limit was changed from 3 to 4 this year, I was very disappointed when I tried to make arrangements for my DDs after reading about this last year. They did allow me to reserve the Tea Party, I guess they lowered the minimum age limit for this event.

My girls did this twice and are scheduled again for 10/30. They LOVE this activity. The best part for the parents is watching them pass out the treats in the lobby. Too cute.

Janet - GREAT Slideshow. It really looks like a lot of fun for the kids.

How far in advance do you normally schedule it?

I scheduled my DD (4 1/2 at the time) about 3 months ahead of time. My cousin, however, tried to schedule the event for her 2 DD's about 3 months ahead, too, but it was all sold out for her week (though it is Jersey Week when she goes). I guess it depends on the time of year. DD had a great time, and they made and decorated gingerbread men. I think the parents had more fun, though, watching them proudly pass out their treats to passers-by in the GF lobby!

I tried calling for this about 3 weeks ago and tried to get 10/29, 11/2, 11/5, and was told no availability. I called Sunday morning and BAM 10/29 opened for my DS!! He's so excited about it!! Now my DW and I have to find something to do for a couple hours on Friday morning!!

It's getting close now!!
