"I'm so high, I can hear heaven..."
Yes, I stole the lyric, but it summed it all up!!!
Last night we took a fireworks cruise on the Grand 1. It was DH's birthday gift to me.
First, a little about the boat...she's a 2004, 48 foot yacht with twin 1600 hp Cummins deisel engines, plus a deisle powered generator. She only has a draw of 3 1/2 to 4 foot, she can make a top speed of 38 kph. The yacht is staffed with a captain and first mate. DH ordered wine, beer and cheese/crackers from private dining and had it delivered, but you can also arrange for a full seven course meal with private butler service as well.
On board is a wonderful climate controlled seating area on top. Below are three bedrooms, two heads, a living room/dining room area with cooking facillities, and even a washer/dryer! There are three tv's, 2 VCR's and a DVD player, plus a full state of the art stereo surround sound system.
We were told that there are some plans in the works to rent her out as an actual guest suite, but no one seemed to have many details on that, there are some legal issues being worked out.
We invited another couple to join us, and we met at the GF dock at about 6:15. We were given a tour by the first mate, and the waiter who had delivered the snacks to us opened the beers and wine, poured the first round of choice for each of us, and then went back to shore.
Shortly we began to sail out into the Seven Seas lagoon. The captain took us over into Bay Lake and we were given the choice of where to view the fireworks from. There is actually a great view from behind the MK on the water, although we decided we would rather have the full on castle view.
The weather, which had been rainy off and on all day had cleared and was perfect. We could hear the music from the fireworks across the water.
After the fireworks we slowly cruised back to the marina. The captain docked, but we weren't rushed off the yacht, and were encouraged to finish our drinks.
It was truly Disney Magic at it's very finest. We all agreed that it was the very best Disney experience we had ever had!
