I have found the prices for the Grand 1 Yacht for the hour and rough catering prices, but not many reviews from people who have done it.

Has anybody hired this boat? Has anybody had the GF private dining to cater for it? I am also wondering if anybody has ordered a cake and had it on the Grand 1 Yacht. Do they serve different drinks on there, not just champagne? I was thinking of cocktails and spirits or beer.

We are looking at it for a birthday celebration so would like to have catering and a cake. There would be quite a few of us. I have read that the maximum on the new boat is 18, we will have up to 14 people, including children so would want catering for children and adults.

Would love to hear from anybody who has been on the boat and particularly had the catering of a cake.

Thanks :goodvibes

No help on the boat, but I have seen a cake thread around here somewhere. Cake porn, really. It all looks so good..I hope you can find it!

I've seen more information on special events such as yours on the Weddings Boards. Those ladies over there are on top of things!

I cannot offer advice on catering or cakes but have taken out the Grand 1 on four previous trips. Both small and large groups and it is always a hit. I do suggest scheduling 30min before MK fireworks and you'll always remember it. Our kids have enjoyed below decks with the adults on top until time for the show. They take you cruising around Seven Seas Lagoon and Bay Lake. See bird island and then have the best seats in the world for wishes. Then the truly best part, return to the dock and no fighting the crowds to leave. The new boat is amazing. Then try to keep it a secret because with little to no promo it gets taken out a lot already.

Yes, Thank You, I LOVE the cake thread, I am hoping to get some inspiration from that thread for my cake.

Thank you :goodvibes I will have a look over there and maybe post this same question over there.

Thank you for your reply. I have only seen pictures (and the youtube video) of the old boat. The new boat sounds lovely and even bigger than the old one. I am really excited and really want to have my birthday party on the boat, so a cake is a definate but it's the catering I am not sure about.

We surprised our family of 17 with the Wishes cruise on the Grand 1 Yacht Thankgsiving '08. :lovestruc.
It would be fabulous for your BD celebration! We didn't have dinner catered on board as with our large group there was simply not room, but dessert and drinks for a group would be very doable.

We did the Spirit of Ahoha Dinner Show and afterwards the captain picked us up right at the Poly. It was pricey, but an adventure not soon to be forgotten!! :cloud9:
Our family still talks about what fun it was ! I have enclosed a pic, but have lots more if interested. :goodvibes

Hi Sandie,

I would love to see some more of your pictures from the Grand 1. The below space looks great, but I worry that there would be enough room for everyone outside.

Thanks!

I'd be happy to share a few of my photos, so you can get some idea the size/layout of Grand 1 Yacht. I hope you enjoy! :thumbsup2

It is appx 52 ft., 2 1/2 decks incl. the lower Brm level, very compact w/3 sm BRms, a Lrm w/TV, tiny Kit, eating area, and 2 baths. :goodvibes
Hard to believe all that fits in a 52 ft. yacht, but it does!? :)

DH & I hestiated if it would be worth the money, but am so glad we did! Crusing Seven Seas Lagoon, watching Wishes fireworks, the Electric Water Parade, and music piped in were OTT :goodvibes!! Our family had a wonderful time making many special memories to last a lifetime!! :lovestruc

Great pics! Thanks for sharing!
I'm sure that made a lot of happy memories for all who were there.

I would post this on the wedding boards - there are quite a few brides who have booked the Grand 1 and had private dining for their wedding day :goodvibes

FOr anyone who has done this.....is a 60 minute cruise suitable? The jump to 90 minutes is a good 300 so was just curious if the extra 30 minutes is fine. I was thinking watching Wishes....a Happy Birthday Cake and a toast of the bubbly
