We’re going to Disney the first of June 2020. The 4 times we’ve been we stayed at Animal Kingdom Lodge. My husband wants to stay somewhere different. I’ve been looking at the Gran Destino Tower. How’s the bus transportation to the parks? One of the reasons I love Animal Kingdom Lodge, is the bus transportation. Is it a great resort to stay at? Thanks!

We’ve stayed at Coronado several times. Buses have never been an issue for us. It’s one of our favorite resorts. I can’t wait go stay in the tower! Enjoy your trip!

Thank you! That’s good to hear. We like doing rope drop. Did you have a problem getting to the parks before they open? I was told there’s 5 stops, the Tower is the first stop.

We are not rope drop people. We prefer to wait until after the parks open and stay til closing. If the Tower is the first stop, I would think you would be fine. We aren’t going back until spring, but I sure am ready to get back!

I thought the tower was the last stop?

Me too!! It’s been a little over a year since we’ve been there. I can’t wait! I wish I could talk my husband into staying at Animal Kingdom Lodge again.

Perhaps they have added a stop? There used to be 4 stops with the one near the tower as the last.

We stayed in GDT in July. The GDT is stop #1 but actually it is the last stop before leaving the grounds for the parks. Usually we had to stand, but all the parks except for MK are super close. It is the last stop to drop off people from the parks also. Still we loved our stay there - it’s brand new and clean and beautiful. Seems deluxe! There is a small gym in the building too if that matters. I would not hesitate to stay again. We’ve done AKL too and loved it. Can’t go wrong either way.

Can someone explain Animal Kingdom and the other places to stay there
we have reservations at GDT Springs in March 2020, standard room. Do they have large windows@?

@Crystalp--Keep in mind that, unlike AKL, GDT doesn't have balconies. Just wanted to mention that in case sitting on the balcony is one of your regular vacation activities. That being said, GDT looks beautiful!

Animal Kingdom is the theme park. The resort is Animal Kingdom Lodge, which is separate from (and not in) the park. The lodge (AKL) has its own savannas and animals. At AKL you can stay at a standard-view, pool-view, or savanna-view room. There are public savanna viewing platforms, some with seating, all over the lodge.

We usually don’t use the balcony, it’s too hot lol.

CSR still only have 4 stops, they moved the location of bus stop #1 closer to the Tower but it's still the last stop. I personally never pick our resort based on transportation, I have gone enough times to realize it's hit or miss no matter what resort you're at.

Was just in the Tower a couple weeks ago, going back in two weeks then again in December. The Tower is actually the first stop with Bld 7&8 being the last stop before heading out to the parks. It was kind of a pain to wait behind buses at every stop, but overall, not that big a deal.

We’ve not been to AK Lodge yet, but it’s on my list to try. It looks amazing!
