Gramma jinxed disney on spring break! PARTING THOUGHTS 06/15/09

even when leaving disney, it is still nice to be home, especially when you lay down in your own bed for the night and ust go ahhhh, relaxing

Too bad Disney trips and trip reports have to end. I really enjoyed reading yours. I'll be waiting for the final thoughts.

Ohhh, poo on the smokers and poo on the invading family! Glad you had a good meal at Ruby Tuesdays, we don't have them in our area but have heard of the chain. I love your idea of a "Grumpy" t-shirt for night before leaving packing. I need one too! I'd have to wear it tonight.....:sad2:

As much as last days in the parks are hard and sad, there's also a freedom in just going with the flow. You notice things you haven't seen before. You stop and appreciate things and you usually have some good luck....The Yak and Yeti food looks good.....:thumbsup2

Coming home=not gud.

I'm glad we went to Y&Y! It was a nice surprise! It was nice just to have a day to take it all in.

Yah, that would be Jim - really happy to be home in his own bed.

Thanks for being here!

Well, we're taking the kids to Texas on July 4th - not sure if I'll do a TR, but maybe something. Should be fun - they're moving. LOL We're planning a HI cruise next fall for our 30th, but no date yet.

Your trip is getting SO CLOSE!!!! The boys don't know yet?

Yah, the ID thing was cool. I went in ahead of him, and then I turned around and he was waving me back - we headed for the VIP line and another guy yelled at us - the ID checker said, "I told them to go there!" We felt pretty special.:thumbsup2

The chowder place is:
Boudin’s Bakery and Café

famous sourdough bread, sandwiches, salads and soup
Terminal 3, Boarding Area F, food court at entrance to Gates 80-90, post-security
hours: daily, 5:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.
phone: 650.871.2515

gotta love copy and paste!:goodvibes

OH NO how are you going to do with your babies moving? Were doing San Francisco for the 4th, weve never been so this should be fun.. with the boys LOL. Ill be sure to get sourdough and clam chowda from Boudin’s when I go to compair it to the Orlando Airport! thanks hun!

Yes 2months for us.. I need to start getting in workout overtime to fit into my shorts and bathing suit LOL. Boys still dont know.. WELL P kind of does but I keep brushing it off LOL

It will be hard to have them gone, but I know it's an awesome opportunity for DS and DDIL - I'm happy for them! And Texas will be an awesome place to visit!:thumbsup2 I told Jim I don't know what we'll do with our DVC points now:rotfl2:

I'm sorry I've been gone so long - I had nasty dental work last week (still on pain pills) and then met DH for the weekend and DS and DDIL had their college grad.

I thought I'd just finish with best and worst of our trip, and what I wish we'd done differently:

Best meal - WL WCC
Worst meal - Tangeriene Cafe in Morocco
Best special effects - Wishes piped in to Ohana:love:
Best drink - Lapu Lapu at Ohana
Best ride - Has to be Mission Space (even the baby side :lmao:)
Worst ride - El Rio de Tiempo - what?:confused3

Best dessert - Banana Bread Pudding at Ohana:thumbsup2

Best character experience - Santa at AK!;)

Biggest surprise - getting spilled on at WWS!:lmao:

Biggest "must do" for another day - stay at VWL!

Most relaxing - glass of wine on the deck at WL

Okay - for what I'm most glad we did, it would have to be the car rental. We felt so much more free and so much less frustrated in the car - it made the difference in our vacay for us!:cool1:

2. I'm glad I had the best parks to visit info from TGM

What I wish we would have done differently:

1. TGM was a double edged sword - I loved knowing which park to be at, but trying to do everything according to his plan was stressful. Stress doesn't work for us on vacation. We had already figured out how to "do disney" without the step by step instructions.

2. Not knowing when to have common sense about riding TSM stand-by and FP at the same time. You have to make some choices at DHS.

3. Trying to do a half day at DHS. Not possible if you want to do the rides.

- Next time I would plan for a whole day there as before, and schedule in a pool day. I would plan to ride everything only once with FP - or else skip - no 70 min RNR stand-by again!

4. I think staying so far off property was a downer. SOG offered a "overflow" rate at POR - I wish we would have taken it, even for a few extra dollars, although I did like our suite - just didn't like the neighborhood, and I would have liked to spend more time in DTD.

**When will we be back? Sometime next year before July 31st. We have some points to use - I'm tempted to do Vero Beach, but I'm sure we'll decide to to a villa at the World!

This Dec we'll be going to Texas for Christmas -I think Christmas at the beach near Corpus Cristi, then New Year's with DS and DDIL in San Antonio!:yay:****

Thanks for reading, everyone! I enjoyed re-living the experience, and sharing it with my DIS friends!:grouphug:

Well thank you for sharing it all with us. It has given me lots of tips and tricks. Debating on renting a car now when we go.

I think you should do mini trip reports LOL You have to update us at least on how the grandbabies are.. I feel like we know them LOL

I completely agree about TGM. Nice to have the info, but stressful to follow all of it!

And I absolutely agree about DHS. I always want to ride RnRC and ToT more than once and I waste SO much time in the stand-by lines. Those lines are always so long!

Your Christmas plans sound very nice!

I like your closing thoughts. WCC is one of our favorite meals too. We've done the skillet thing there which was good, this last trip we had steaks and they were really great!
Had to :rotfl: at the Santa at AKL...
I've been working on my photobook of our March trip. Now that I'm organized, I may try to do a TR of it. The car bump up on the way home from the trip put a dark cloud at the end of a great, great trip, looking back at the pics, I'm excited to share it now.

I agree on TGM, I didn't really follow his plans, but I did look at the best days for the parks and enjoyed alot of his tips.:thumbsup2

Thanks so much for sharing your trip. :goodvibes You have cracked me up several times. I hate we missed each other at AKL. We'll have to meet up on another disney trip. :)

Wouldn't it be nice to have enough time on vacation to do absolutely everthing!:rotfl2:
