Does anyone have suggestions about what would be an appropriate amount of money to give to a High School Graduate at his party. We are friends of the family and their son has been so helpful to our child in High School. I have no clue what is appropriate.

Honestly any amount you can afford is fine. :thumbsup2 My son is graduating high school and any amount will make him happy. We're just looking forward to having our friends and family together.

When my DS graduated last year he received many $5 gifts that were appreciated! I know people always suggest laundry/shower tote gifts, but to be honest, he got several of those and the stuff just went to goodwill. He also got knick-knack kind of things and those are still in his room someplace.

Unless you know the kid well, I think cash or a gift card is the best way to go. Even if its a small amount.

I am with the "whatever is good for you" rule... 20 is what is usually good for me.

;)

My "go-to gift" for high school seniors is $25. Now - this is mostly for the team members that are on a team that I've coached for 3 years. Some of the team has actually had the nerve to graduate throughout the years.

One of my favorite team members is graduating this year, so I am going a little above this - I'll still give her the $25, but also got a fabulous deal on a Vera Bradly mini-hipster. The graduate has a lot of "bigger" vera bradley bags, but I thought in college - she might want/need a smaller bag from time-to time.

When my DD graduated high school, one family gave her a check for the amount of her year of graduation. (This year that would be $20.11) She still talks about that check!:) It was a unique idea.
