Tonight was DS's HS graduation. They had a microphone for the grads to say a few words, if they chose, after their names were announced and they were handed their diplomas. Some did and some didn't. I did not think my DS would. Well he surprised me. He walked up to it and with tears in his eyes and all choked up said " I want to thank my mom and something along the line about couldn't have done it without her and then he said I love you mom :lovestruc" . I was so moved and it was all I could do to hold back the tears. As a single mom I have been very, very blessed to have this young man as my son. I thank God every day that I was blessed with this child.
I don't hold a college degree and am currently unemployed and searching so it is just the two of us and we lead a pretty simple life. However, we laugh alot:laughing: and talk all the time. And of course we are Disney fans so.....:earsboy:
One more thing, since when did people think it was good taste to bang a frying pan and metal spatula over your head?:sad2: This lady sitting behind me pulled out a frying pan and metal spatula and banged the he** out of it when her sons name was called. REALLY!! She scared the livin crap out of me.
Ok, that's it. Thanks for listening.

Awwwwwwwwwwwwwww!!!! That is so sweet! Congratulations to your son!

DS plays lacrosse. There is one boy on the team who always goes to the stands during their drills and says..."Hi, Mom!" :cloud9: We'll miss him being he's a senior and graduating. :teeth: All the moms in the stands get green eyed and tell his mom...I wish my son would do that. :)

So great to hear the kids say things like this.

Awww! That's so sweet about your son. Congrats to him on graduating!!

But OMG about the lady with the frying pan!! :scared1: In my dreams I would have grabbed it and smacked her over the head with it. :lmao:

:cheer2: You obviously did the most important job of all ~ You are a wonderful Mom and raised a wonderful child. What does it matter what our bank balance is, if we haven't raised our children to be kind, loving, responsible people. Great Job!!!!!:grouphug:

Well, Shannon - you did it right! (And, you don't have to "hold back the tears" - let'em flow, honey!) Congratulations on having such a fine son.

OMG! about the frying pan & spatula! That woman is an idiot!

:lmao: Oh my gosh, that is a riot. Bizarre but funny nonetheless.

That is VERY sweet what your son did. What a proud mama moment!!

Sounds to me like you did a wonderful job-congrats to both of you!

What a great son! And you are obviously a great mom!

At our graduations someone always seems to show up with one of those loud air horns or whatever they are called. I swear some people are so annoying!

Thank you everyone. Your comments mean a great deal.:yay:
