Graduation Buttons

My daughter and her cousin are graduating from high school this year a week before we go to Disney, do they have graduation buttons? What happens when people wear buttons? Should I note this for dining reservations also

I can't remember if there is a graduation specific button, but there is an I'm Celebrating button that you could ask for if graduation isn't available.

If they wear the buttons they will get plenty of "Congratulations" from castmembers. You can also note it on dining reservations or just let the CMs at the podium know about their graduation when you arrive at the restaurant.

The only thing the buttons will guarantee is plenty of verbal "congratulations" from CMs. At restaurants they might get a complimentary cupcake or dessert, confetti on the table, maybe a card but nothing is guaranteed. It depends on the restaurant and your server. Everyday thousands of people are celebrating a special event in DW - birthday, graduation, engagement, wedding, anniversary, life changing moment, first visit - so there is no way to guarantee that everyone's special event will be recognized.

I went to WDW to celebrate my own HS grad in 2012! They don't have a specific button, but I received an "I'm Celebrating" button at check in that they wrote "graduation" on. I actually ended up getting another in the parks by a super cool CM who wrote "2012" on the balloons and added "with honours" after my mom had to pop in by bragging a little

As purple figment said, the button can only guarantee congratulations and well-wishes from CMs. Many CMs struck up conversations with Mom and I when they saw it and it was a great piece to start chats with characters too (the best one was at Chef Mickey's when Minnie saw it and had me stand up and hand me my rolled-up napkin, pretending she was giving me my diploma! We shook hands and posed for the video camera too I wish we had a still image of it, it was the funniest thing). I did receive cupcakes at a couple meals (Ohana, CRT, Garden Grill), but we never asked and it wasn't at every place we ate. It depends on the CM and is definitely not guaranteed!

We did mark my graduation as a celebration on our dining reservations, but aren't sure if that had any weight or if we just happened to have lots of magical CMs. Honestly, there's truly no way to determine exactly how much magic you'll get, but the button did give us some magical moments on the trip. :

We are going for my son's HS graduation this June. I did mention it on our ressie. I think I may order a custom cake for one of our dinners. I looked on EBAY and found DisneyLAND graduation buttons. I may get them to add to the celebration button. They were $2.
