Grad Nights

So, we are planning a trip for mid May. I thought that there was one grad night during our trip, but I just discovered that there are three!:scared1: Wed, Thurs, and Friday.

I know that the format has changed for this year and no one knows how that's going to affect the parks, but do any of you DL experts have any predictions for me?

We already have flights and the Hojo entertainment rate booked, so changing dates is really not an option. Any suggestions for coping strategies?

They no longer close the park in the evening.

You may loose and hour on Friday night, but it should not effect the night shows.

The grads will recieve a park hopper for the day, but in May this will not cause crowding in already quiet parks. Most grads won't show up until later in the day and evening anyhow.

They will get to see F! during the night, so I would not expect F! to be more crowded during regular park hours, but more people will be watching the fireworks.

Thanks, that makes me feel better. I have TP so we have an idea of what the crowds might be like, but they don't have the Grad Nights listed so I don't know if they have those factored it yet to their crowd predictions.

We are WDW commandos, so I am having a hard time with the DL planning. DL seems like it is a much more "go with the flow" type of experience than WDW.;)

One more semi-related question. I was just reading the sticky info about MM. It states in there that MM does not happen on the morning after a grad night. Is that still true? That would mean no MM on either Thurs or Sat of our trip.

We're staying offsite, so will only have access to one MM.

It certainly can be if you choose it to be. DLR has very stable hours compared to WDW where the EMHs rotate and the park's opening and closing hours change all the time. DLR simply has short hour weekdays and long hour weekends in the offseason, long hours all week during high seasons.

For crowds you are visiting during a great time. Only Friday evening will be a problem, but you can get in lots of rides before then.

This is not expected to be true anymore. The Grad parties used to go all night. In 2012 they are much shorter.
