grad night

The first night we get in to WDW is grad night- we usually got to Chef Mickeys and have a ressie but we had also planned to go to FW for the chip and dale campout-now I wonderif we should avoid the MK area like the plague- one night we got caught in grad night traffic and were stuck for hours trying to get out of MK. We ended up taking a cab from contemp. What would you do?? We could just go to Downtown or drive to FW.

I'm not sure how you got caught in traffic. I've never run into a problem with Grad Nite but I usually use Disney transportation. The Grad Nite starts in the evening but it doesn't end until around 5:00 a.m. I would think you'd be okay with Chef Mickey's and FW but you know from your past experience the potential problems.
