Graco quattro tour duo

I know I've seen a billion stroller threads here previously, but darn if I can find them now!
We are getting ready to take DD4 and DD8mos to WDW next month and need a double stroller that will hold a 38lb preschooler and still has a lie-flat seat for the baby.

Before you tell me to make her walk - this is way more for my convenience than hers! I don't want to have to carry her at the end of the night when she falls asleep on the monorail or drag her when we're in a hurry. And of course, there's nothing like the threat of being confined to the stroller to quell bad behavior

We tried the quattro tour duo and it seemed to fit the bill. Anyon have any experience with this one? Does it hold up well? We'll probably only get a few uses with this set of DDs but hopefully there will be a third before too long

Any others that you swear by for your age-split duo?

First, that's a big stroller! If you have a Babies R Us around that you could maybe try it out I would. Even try out a single if you have to. You'll likely find that it's very heavy and I expect it would be difficult to manage on the buses. There's not alot of room to move around when they pack everyone in, and there's no luggage racks or anything.

Second, you might want to consider 2 strollers (like a Maclaren Triumph and a Volo for example) that can be connected to become a double with something like this: http://store.babycenter.com/product/code/3431.do?intcmp=Store_Contentsite_Global_Search. That way, if baby is sleeping and you want to stay in the shade with him/her and older child wants to go to Fantasyland with Dad or whatever you can disconnect and do that. Or leave one back at the room for the mornings. Gives you alot more flexibility.

I give 10 votes to this stroller, i bought one 5 years ago that lasted me 2 boys and it probley would have lasted me for another 5 for my new little girl, but i wanted a diffrent pattern ..... I LOVE this stroller, i put my "pooh" sized toddler in it hes about 30 some odd pounds and fits fine, its a heavy duty tough stroller with BIG wheels and sturdy bars BUT i don't find it that heavy (but i might just be use to it) and i took mine to DL last year and it went fine on the art folded down!!! Its a great stroller and they have a new double sized one i'm thinking i might just need , cause my DS2 listens fine to my DH but me on the other hand and its hard to take DS5 to school on the bus with the 2 little ones now that DH is back at work!!

LOL i just noticed you wanted it for the double lol, well its all still the same info and i know some one with a CHUNKY little boy and fits good in the double, the only thing might be hight wise with the 4yr old and the front canopy

The age difference between our kids is much different, but here is my advice.


The double stroller, while wonderful to use in many situations, is very heavy and will be difficult for getting on and off of the buses. The reclining back is wonderful for the baby, but think about how everyone is going to get on the bus, while carrying the stroller and any bags you may have.


For our last trip, we took 2 separate singles (Evenflo Sport Plus) and bought the clips to hook them together. Hated the clips! They just never worked well for us.


What we did love was the ease of having 2 separate, lightweight strollers. If the oldest wanted to walk, it was easy to push empty. Getting on the bus was a breeze, because we could both carry a stroller and child (or hand) with no problem. Major drawback to the Evenflo's was the lack of reclining back. Youngest fell asleep with no problem, but other wouldn't.


There are many options out there that DO have a reclining back. Being that we already had the large double stroller (and our original single), we chose not to spend a lot of money on the new strollers.


I can honestly say that we haven't used the double once since we got the lightweight singles. They are just so much easier to use. Now when #3 is born....who knows what we'll do.

Thanks for the info/advice. I am a little worried about the buses although the majority of our travel (5/8 days) will be monorail transportation. I think that 2 separate strollers might be tough just because little DD still has to be carried and this way I can just stick DH with the incredibly heavy stroller

We have taken our single Graco Quattro Tour to Disney many times and LOVE it!! Yes, it is big, but it is a wonderful stroller for baby to sleep in and has lots of room in the basket underneath plus all the cup holders and big snack tray. I know the double would be heavy but I think very nice for Disney.

I'll tell you I managed with a double stroller by myself in the parks and on the tram when my DH was in a conference and I took the kids by myself. If I can do that, I'm sure two people can handle two kids and a double stroller. My kids were 5 & 15 months at the time.

I will tell you though another option b/c my kids are the same space as yours. When we took DD who was 4 at the time and DS who was 7 months we did only take the one Graco Quattro Tour stoller as my DH was with us the whole time. We also took the Baby Bjorn front carrier and this proved to be key!!!! DS wanted to be carried way more than ride in the stroller. So DH mostly carried DS in the front carrier and I pushed DD in the stroller. Sometimes DD walked around and DS rode in the stroller and fell asleep so we reclined him for a comfy nap. This worked out great with one stroller and one carrier!!!

My vote is for a baby jogger city mini double the are awesome and truely accommadate children of all heights and up to 50 pounds. You can also get an attachment that allows you to attach an infant carseat to it. I am actually trying to generat enough dissers to get one for a stroller swap my original post is on the budget board. best of luck w/ your decision.
