Have any of you used a Duoglider at the parks. Just wondering how that will work with the monorail and buses. We are staying at the Poly. I really don't want to lug this stroller but it might be better than renting. I"m not buying another double because DD is almost 6 and DS just turned 2. I was leaning toward renting at the parks but DH was not happy about the price for a week. What would you do? Thanks in advance. :goodvibes

good question :thumbsup2 Im going to WDW for the first time with my DD's in september and we are bringing our Duoglider

I would bring a comfy single stroller for your little one (you will need it around the resort) and rent for the 6 year old if need be. I can't imagine pushing the graco double with a 6 year old in it! I stopped using mine when my oldest was 4 because she barely fit and it was too hard to push. Does your 6 year old still fit in it? Those strollers are heavy and between 2 kids and all your stuff, your arms would not be happy by the end of the day. We are bringing a stroller for our little one (19 months) and renting a double for our 4 and 6 year old. The rentals are worth every penny considering how easily they steer and they save us from hearing any complaining! :rotfl:

I used my Graco Duoglider on our last trip with my ds3 and dd1. We stayed off property so I have no experience with it on buses but that thing is heavy and I can't imagine getting it on and off while juggling 2 children, bags, etc. We had no problem on the monorail -- they put a ramp down for me to push it into the accessible car. We no longer have that stroller (it got leaked on in the garage and got mildew all over the seat so we threw it out). I'm still trying to decide what to do for my now ds5 and dd(almost)3. We will probably use a single or two umbrella type strollers.

Warning! Last year we rented a Jeep Duo stroller for my 8 month old and 3 year old. After the kids were in it and we put some gear in it the stroller was impossible to steer. I mean even my DH had a hard time. We ended up renting a double park stroller for my DD and 6 yo DS. It was a little easier steering with just the baby in it. So I would not recommend a double with a 6 year old in it. I don;t know if the graco is easier to steer but you don;t want to be stuck, believ me.

We've used our duoglider on 3 trips so far. We have two kids - ages almost 2 and almost 4. We've used it while staying at the Polynesian and WL. Most of the time, we did NOT have to fold it up to get on the boat or monorail. Getting on the buses was a bit tricky, but we would basically bring a bag with all the stuff we needed for the day and I would carry the bag with the stuff and my DS would walk onto the bus and I'd hold DD.

I am thinking of buying one of those Sit and Stand strollers from Target. They're about $130 and the front has a seat, the back has more of a platform for the older child to stand/sit without being strapped in. But then I think of my DS getting tired - where will he sleep if we're not at the hotel?

I think we're bringing the duoglider on at LEAST the next 2 trips. Maybe after that DS won't need a stroller and I'll just bring a little umbrella one for DD. It is a tough decision - where can you store all your stuff without a stroller??? I do love having the basket underneath for extra clothers/souvenirs/incidentals.

My DD still fits in it because she is tiny, 43 inches and 38 lbs. I like the cup holders and the storage underneath for our diaper bag and stuff. Also it is less likely to get stolen then a rental. It is very big and heavy but it pushes pretty easy and turns alright too. We have a single Peg perego Aria and I hate it! It is hard to push with DS 2 in it. The cup holder is a waste of time. We will either rent one or bring Duoglder. Thanks for all your help!

We used our Duoglider for 10 days in April and it was just great. Our kids are pretty good sized for their age - DD weighs 40 pounds and DS 30 pounds so it held a lot of kid onthat trip! I liked that we could recline it for DS, we had 2 separate sunshades and plenty of storage! I had DD sit inthe back seat as she is heavier and she can climb better than DS, it worked better to have the bigger kid in the back.

I couldn't justify the cost of a new stroller just for our trip and I'm glad Io didn't spring for one. I think if you are comfy with the stroller at home, you will be at WDW.

On one trip it was great--a real lifesaver. But that was the trip where DS(2) had a broken leg, and we had a "stroller-is-a-wheelchair" pass that you get from guest services. So we hardly ever had to fold it up, and could let our sleeping baby just stay asleep in the back throughout the parks. It was blissful!

The next time we took it, DS's leg was healed, and we were back to using it like a "regular" stroller, though. That was a nightmare. We were constantly having to fold and unfold it and found it to be bulky and unwieldy. We eventually gave up and went and bought two cheapie umbrella strollers from Wal-Mart. That worked much better for us. But since we have six kids, we still had a good of stroller-pushers to stroller-riders, so that might affect your planning, too. It was funny for DH & me to see, at one point, one stroller with a 6-year-old holding a 3-year old on his lap, being pushed by a 10-year-old and another with a 7-year-old holding a baby on his lap being pushed by a 12-year old! At least they enjoy being together :dance3: :dance3:
