Grab The Trash Bags, We Are Going to Disney!

Oh my DN would love that, he loves POTC. Your kids looked so cute, :thumbsup2 my DN would say that's not for her all that makeup. The Beach Club Villas was a great location, our room was so far from everything, no one wanted to walk up front. Hopefully we will get the Boardwalk in August but if not we have reservations for AKV which we love.

Thanks for the posts everyone. I find this type of forum kind of funny sometimes. When people don't respond I get paranoid :scared1: that nobody is reading and I am writing it for myself, which is ok too I guess. But then I know there are people that read and don't post too, which is also fine.

What great fun you all are having!!!!

Love all the pirate stuff:wizard:
Thanks! It was fun!
I've been reading along but haven't had time to post since it's been so busy at work (you know....trying to get all the deadlines met before I leave for Disney). Your pictures at the character meals are so cute. That one incident with the bacon scared the daylights out of me so I can imagine how you were left feeling.

I love how your son had no problems greeting the princesses. He's gonna be a lady killer one day.
Thanks! He still believes so I think that is why he doesn't mind all the princess stuff :). You leave in 4 days!!! For some reason I thought it was much longer than that. Have a BLAST!!!! CBR again, right?

They all sound great to me!! Do you go a couple times a year? My friend does Boardwalk and it sounds awesome. They all sound fabulous to me :)!

So, now we have stuck our heads in the Frontier Land Stock, ridden the Barnstormer and walked through the Mouse House. Then I notice that we are right next to the tent where you can meet the fairies and I say without thinking to my children "Oh look! This is where you can meet the fairies!". Well, I wish I looked at the wait time before I opened my big mouth b/c it said 90 minutes :scared1:! Now, I know that long waits are often seen in WDW, but we really do not tolerate them and usually just move on and come back another time so I thought that the response to this news was going to be met with "Oh no way Mom!", especially by my DS. Boy was I wrong! Both my kids yelled "We don't care, we have to meet the fairies!!". My son was as adamant as my DD, which was a huge surprise to me. He kept saying "But we have NEVER met the fairies!". So, off I go into a 90 minute line with my DB, DS and DD5. My DH and baby DD went for something cold and many walks around the air conditioned gift shop. So for 90 minutes we heard about the wishes of all 3 of my children (In case you didn't catch that I am including my DB in this). DB wanted to meet Tinker Bell, DS Silvermist and DD Rosetta. I don't know how many times I said to them that we have no idea who will be there and that we might not be meeting any of these fairies so we better get used to the idea that we may be meeting Iredesa, Fawn and Clarence. Let me tell you, as good as my 3 children were that fairy line was ssllloooowwww! I forgot to say that when I was trying to talk my children out of waiting the CM said "It is worth it" and without meaning to I believe I rolled my eyes. This will be important later. Well, finally our turn came to go through the secret door with the 2 families in front of us. Then onto another hallway and another much shorter wait. Then we were let through another rope and asked to stand next to a specific mushroom (I believe that is what it was). All of a sudden, Rosetta appears as she walks over to the little girl and her mother who had been in front of us and were now in the Fairy Room. Out of pure excitement and joy my DD5 yells as loud as possible "Rosetta!!!". Then Rosetta turns and yells "Mainlander!". This was precious and alone was worth the 90 minute wait and we hadn't even gotten in the room yet.
So, now it is our turn. YAY! We already knew Rosetta was there and she is who greeted us and took us in. DD5 was thrilled and couldn't stop looking at her. First, Rosetta had to make sure that Basil (DS) was ok being a pirate and all.
SAM_0814.jpg

Once she knew he was ok, she demanded a hug from Basil who wasn't really going for it (a little nervous with being touched). That fairy was stubborn and she stood there until she saw a weak moment and then she grabbed him and stole her crushing hug. IT was so cute!
SAM_0816.jpg

We couldn't leave without DD5 giving one more huge hug to Rosetta though!
SAM_0819.jpg

Then to look and see who is next although we are certain that DB has already noticed because it is............Tinker Bell!!!!
SAM_0822.jpg

She loved looking at DB's "shiny things" hanging around his neck that all looked just like her!
SAM_0829.jpg

Then, Tinker Bell walks us over to our next Fairy and who is it but SILVERMIST!! Are you kidding me?? Talk about Disney Magic. We hit the jackpot and got all 3 fairy wishes!
Silvermist was very uncertain about the pirate heading toward her and she hid behind a flower until Tink convinced her he was ok. It wasn't until Silvermist checked his teeth that she agreed to meet us and Basil.
SAM_0831.jpg

DS was so thrilled. He waited patiently for her to decide and I think he would have stood on his head if she told him to.
SAM_0838.jpg

Here she is teaching them how to collect dew drops:
SAM_0837.jpg

Before we left I told Silver that DS waited 90 minutes in the hopes of meeting her and that she was his favorite fairy and then she planted a HUGE kiss on his forehead, which was one of the most magical moments of this trip as far as I am concerned. Now, I thought he was going to be disgusted, but he had just the opposite reaction. When we finally walked out and I was rubbing his head saying "I can't believe you got a kiss from Silvermist!" I was expecting to have my hand promptly removed from his head but, instead he said "Mommy, can you see my kiss??" "Is it there still, where is it?" "Take a picture of it, quick!". Needless to say, I had tears in my eyes.
SAM_0840.jpg

We have about 20 pics of this kiss because it was requested all day!! Talk about magical moments. A huge thank you to Tinker, Silver and Rosetta for all that amazing pixie dust!
Still on day 6 we will be off to more MK and then onto line dancing with the mice! Stay tuned.........

Ok, not related to my trip report, but what the heck was I thinking when I planned a combination 40th bday/1st Holy Communion Party tomorrow at my house??!! Aaaaahhh!:scared1::scared1::headache:

:cool1: My DN wanted to meet them sooo bad but we just didn't hit it right.

Your son is funny :rotfl: glad to see his is not to old for all that. The kiss on his forehead was great :cool1:.

Yes we do go down twice a year, depending on how much time we have sometimes three times. With my DS living literally five minute's from WDW he could walk to POFQ if he wanted to, so we go down to see him alot and let's not forget the mouse. We don't stay with him, lets just say three guys  sharing a apartment :scared1: while in college and working.

Were you feeling ambitious this weekend. Hope your parties turn out well.

I so hope when we go that my DGD will be able to see them all too, how special it was for your family!!:wizard:

Hope some pixie dust helps you out with your party too:love:

The fairies were def worth it! Maybe you guys can take her next time. My son is funny, not the typical 8 year old boy in many ways...we were so thankful the magic was still there for him this trip! That is great you can visit your son and the mouse at the same time. I can understand not staying with him however :rotfl: Yes, I was feeling ambitious in April when I planned the party. ;) We have had a very busy May. The party was great. Perfect weather, everyone came and we played some serious kickball games, which has become a tradition in our family I guess. Thanks for the well wishes!

I hope she can too! They were so fun! We did have some pixie dust helping to give us a fantastic day yesterday! Thanks!

Found your TR this morning and thoroughly enjoyed reading the whole thing while having my morning coffee!!

Love the pictures around CBR, have always wanted to stay there and your pictures make me re-think next trip. Love the pool area and I am with you on all the slushie drinks at the pools....takes me right back to last August at SSR and a lava smoothie every day by the pool for my DD17 and me a pina colada or 2;)

Love the pirate league looks, fantastic!! We too loved the fairies and waited about 60 minutes and everyone declared it was worth it!! We went with my two nieces who are 5 and 9 and my DD17 and I have to say they paid as much attention to my 17year old as they did to the little ones!! Tinkerbell and my DD struck up quite the "friendship" as a matter of fact, the picture is framed in our wall unit it's so good!!!

I can't wait to read more, you have a beautiful family and I love that you find pleasures in the small moments that happen, sometimes I find people forget to do that!!! I have really enjoyed your report and look forward to more!!

Oh my word......a 90 minute wait to see the fairies?:scared: But, I was very happy to hear that it was worth it! I love that you got to see all three that you had wished for. The picture of the kiss on the forehead is priceless.

Welcome!! Thanks so much for reading and for your very kind words! You made my day! :) I am thrilled that my pics would make someone want to stay at CBR. We really enjoyed our stay there. That is so sweet about Tinker and your DD! Love it! For me WDW is all about those "small" sometimes unexpected moments; you can go anywhere to ride a rollercoaster, right. ;)
So glad you are joining in and thanks again!!

Seemed long to me but we had never waited for them before! Still worth it. ;) Thanks, I love that photo. The Photopass guy got the actual kiss which my son wants to frame and put in his room :). So, I guess I am paying $15 for that photo. :scared1: You leave tomorrow?! Have a great time! Can't wait to hear about yours when you get back!

Ok, so last we left off we were walking away with our fairy kisses after trying on some crazy hats and heading to Space Mountain. DS's mommy ;) wouldn't let him ride this last trip and I had promised him he could this time. So, we head there to find a 60 minute wait. He wasn't motivated enough for that wait (luckily) so we decided to get popsicles and then head back to the pool. It was just so HOT! On our way out we walked by the castle and stopped to catch a show. DD5 was thrilled to see many of her favorite characters on stage at once; Peter Pan & Wendy, Maleficent, Aurora and Prince Philip and the list goes on.....
SAM_0855.jpg

DS asked to go sit in the shade and wait for DH and DD as he was ready for some pool time. So, we made our way out of the park and waited under a tree. Here is a pic we took of ourselves while waiting for Mickey to save the day:
SAM_0859.jpg

Finally, back to the resort we went and in the pool we stayed until it was time to get ready for our 6:30pm ADR at Mickey's Backyard BBQ! I had been wanting to do this for awhile, but last trip our "big" meal was CRT. I had heard so many wonderful things about the BBQ so we were ready for this one. The girls were going to wear their Minnie dresses, but it was just too hot. So off to MK again to get the boat over to Fort Wilderness. It had actually rained while we were getting ready for the BBQ and had cleared up by the time we were waiting for the boat. Look at this beautiful and huge rainbow over the CR!
SAM_0863.jpg

Did I mention our bums were soaked after that boatride? :rotfl:
So, we head off the boat and find our way to the BBQ checking out the campground as we go. I love to look around at other resorts when I get the chance, but am not one who would go to another resort unless I had a reason. So for us having an ADR at another resort works out nicely.
SAM_0865.jpg

Why is the porta potty next to the entrance sign? Just asking :confused3.
We got there at the suggested time and had to stand and wait for about 15 minutes or so before being let into the pavilion. What a huge place! We are seated near the stage at the end of the table on the outside of the pavilion which we thought was great. We had plenty of room. My DS couldn't wait to go up and was thrilled that we let him go to the buffet without us. I was a little nervous with all those people, but he did great and came back with a huge plate of food. Next, the men went and then me and DD. The baby loved everything and DD was happy with the watermelon. DB and DH were happy about the beer!
SAM_0869.jpg

The baby loves her "Bubba" so when I ask her for a pic she assumes I would want one of her precious companion.
SAM_0867.jpg

And now it is time to dance! My DD was so excited about the dancing with Mickey and Minnie part, but when it came time to do it she really just stood there looking at the mice, Goofy and Chip and Dale. I think maybe it was a little too crowded. Not sure.
SAM_0883.jpg

The baby just stood there and waved to Minnie. It was cute. My brother noticed that during the show Mickey and Minnie were standing outside for pics with no lines so we took advantage of that twice!
This was baby's first chance to actually walk up and meet the mice, she was thrilled and showered them with hugs and kisses!
SAM_0916.jpg

SAM_0918.jpg

SAM_0923.jpg

Overall, it was a great time. The food was good too. It lasted longer than I expected it to and we actually left before it was completely over. The girls had done enough dancing and DS was ready to move onto the next activity. This is where I made a bad assumption. I assumed we could easily hop on a bus and head to a park and then jump on a bus to CBR instead of waiting in the boat line. Silly me. First, we had to take an internal bus and then wait for awhile for an Epcot bus to come by and take us there. Eventually, it all worked out and we made it back to CBR for the pool, hot tub and arcade.
SAM_0924.jpg

Here are the flowers that greeted us when we finally made it back to OPR. This night we were able to watch the Epcot fireworks from the main pool and hot tub while enjoying some frozen drinks :). Another fabulous ending to our magical day. Next up, Day 7: relaxation, pool, pirates, treasure and caribbean music with a little trip to space thrown in.

I've always wondered how the BBQ would be but was leery to try it because I heard it was "outside". I could tell it was hot outside by looking at one of the guys in the background of one of your pictures. You could see the sweat on his shirt.

Your kiddos looked like they had a good time at the BBQ and you got some really good pictures of them with Minnie and Mickey.

Oh, I almost forgot to mention something about Space Mountain. I can remember when my son was tall enough to ride it but I was more scared than he was for him to ride. I like knowing I could reach out to him if I need to and wouldn't be able to do that on Space Mountain. But, once he rode it, he was fine.

Traveling from another resort to a park and then on to your own resort can be tricky for sure.

I knew he would be fine with Space Mountain, but i wasn't ok with it b/c when I rode it years ago it just didn't seem too safe....but I hear it is much better now so I was going to let him do it, but now it is something to do for next time anyway. You must be there now?? Yay!
As far as the BBQ, it was on a hot day, but I don't recall feeling hot when I was there.....we did swim in the pool before going so maybe that guy came straight from a park?? It was all covered.

I love the costumes Mickey and Minnie were wearing, how cute are they? Sounds like you had a great evening!!

They were cute. It is fun having them look different depending on setting. I left off at page 4 or 5 of yours and I am hoping to get back to it after I do some laundry....aaah!

Glad to hear you liked the Mickey's Backyard BBQ, we have never done it. BBQ flavored food is not my favorite so I would shy away from that kind of food.

I can understand that, it is not my favorite either....we did it for the dancing with Mickey and Minnie :)!

AAaaaargh!! I just completed the first part of Day 6 and then didn't copy it before checking it and then lost it when I had to sign back in. So frustrated!:headache::mad::headache:

Double Aarghhh! I hate it when that happens!!! I wrote up a very long detailed post late last night, forgot to copy it, too (as I usually do just in case...I am always having to re-log on when I take too long between posts) and lost the whole dang thing. :confused3

 But I am enjoying your trip report very much! The pics are just great...I, too, dressed my 3 DD's alike...and we are planning to recreate a day of matching sissy outfits on our July WDW trip, even though the girls are 17, 19 and 24 now! We think it will be a hoot! :rotfl2: I must figure out how to post pics on here, I have so many great ones from our prior trips that I really want to share on my pre-trip report...just gotta take the time to figure it out! You have inspired me!

Welcome!! So glad to have you here! I would love to see the pics of your 17, 19 and 24 yo DDs dressing alike on your trip! I had a very hard time at first posting pics, although now I laugh b/c it is really quite easy. I use photobucket. Pretty much you upload them onto photobucket then put the mouse over the uploaded pic and four rows of lines will appear below the pic, copy the link on the 4th line and then paste it to your Pre-trip report. By the way, I will be checking yours out too and will post when I do. Thanks for your kind words and for joining in!!
