When I read Wanda, I immediately thought of Fried Green Tomatoes. In the scene where she's trying to park the car, and the young girls whip into the spot saying "we're younger and faster". So she slams into the car like 4 times, telling the stunned girls "i'm older and have more insurance".
Would be so cool to change the message! Did you see that one of the brands -- Garmin, maybe? -- now lets you use certain Star Wars characters for the voice? They have their "studio recording sessions" on the website -- hilarious! My kids and I now use our Darth Vader voice and call traffic circles "roundabounds."
I call the nav. in my Sync system..."Stupid". The nav system on my Blackberry is often more accurate and direct.
I guess I'm still a little "old school" when it comes to GPS's. If I'm going somewhere I've never been before, I go to the AAA site & print a paper map. I like to see a route ahead of time so I'll know which lane I need to be in well in advance of a turn.
Mine is !itch in a box....I did navigation in the military years ago, and have a pretty good sense of direction, and usually don't get us lost. So, I tell DH that it's his !itch that tells him where to go....in a box!!! LOL I hate that stupid thing.
I call mine Shut Up...the last time on our way to the fort we were on a new Interstate driving through Alabama and it kept telling me to either turn left onto a country road or to make a "legal u-turn at the earliest opportunity"...so I turned it off.
You can change the name of your destination and that is what your GPS will say. There is no profanity editor so watch out! This can get interesting on long trips and you secretly edit some destinations!
Our Garmin is named Sacajawea. She's been navigating on many trips and she does pretty well but she's had her moments when I've hit the mute button.
