Maybe I'm doing something wrong, but for whatever reason I'm trying to plug our resort into our GPS and it's not finding it??

Does anyone know the GPS coordinates and the driving address to the Contemporary or Bay Lake Towers?

I have: 4600 North World Drive Lake Buena Vista, FL

I don't know the coordinates, but my GOD is able to find it by searching either Disney's Contemporary Resort or 4600 N. World Drive, Orlando, FL

Maybe your GPS needs a software update.

Mine couldn't find it either. I just plugged in magic kingdom or one of the parks.

Once you're on property the street signs are really easy to follow. They're like highway signs with parks and hotels instead of cities.

You really don't need that. As aarcher said, the signs are great. You know you're going to the MK area so follow those signs and then to contemporary. That's where we were just the other day and I promise the signs are very useful. :)

Honestly, the signs are so easy to follow that GPS and/or maps just make it harder. I've gotten thoroughly lost trying to use GPS or maps, never gotten lost following signs. Just look for Magic Kingdom/Magic Kingdom Resorts signs, and once you get thru the MK entry plaza, you'll see signs for the Contemporary.

Actually, all you need to do is follow signs to the MK. Once you get to the entry plaza (can't miss it, looks like a big toll plaza), just stay to the right, by the monorail beam. There's a big sign there for the MK resorts. Stay on that road and it'll take you right to the CR.

I'll second the idea of just follow the signs. Plug in Disney World or something like that. Once you get to the exits, everything is incredibly well marked (or put in for Magic Kingdom, that will get you there).

I agree with everyone else, I just put Magic Kingdom in mine when I'm going to one other monorail resorts and turn it off once I reach property. The signs are going to get you there a lot better than the GPS. Just be aware, some of those suckers pop up pretty fast so having a spotter helps.

Thank you everyone!
I think I'll do a software upgrade as suggested.

We are coming in from Sanford Airport, and my husband may be driving in from a different location then us as he travels extensively. Not quite sure yet.
I just want to have the back up information because I get easily confused and lost!

And traffic can sometimes be overwhelming in the Disney area!

Then I really have to mention that using GPS is actually MORE likely to confuse you than just following the signs.

Use it from the airport to WDW, yes, that's fine. But once you're on property, especially with the MK resorts, it's so much better to just use the signs.

And definitely stay to the RIGHT as you approach the TTC area, because otherwise you will have a tricky time getting over there to get to the resort area.

I was really nervous about driving in the area. I spent a lot of time before hand looking at maps of the area and trying to get a lay of the land (world in this case :)!). I am really glad I did because I had a good understanding of how things went but the signs were perfect. I had heard stories of GPS taking people to Cast Member entrances/freight delivery entrances so we relied on maps and signs with no problems at all. In the end I wasted a lot of time worrying but was also very glad I checked out where things were located on a map because it did help to have a picture on my head.

Be careful too because GPS instructions sometimes takes you to roads not meant for guest access.

Thank you everyone!

Very good point. Last time we were there, we were driving in from Northern FL west coast. There were multiple major accidents that had 192 shut down and I-4 if not shut down screamed RED on my GPS and phone. Fortunately my GPS redirected me and I avoided ALL the traffic! Seeing this reminded me to update by GPS. Thanks! :thanks:

Mouse Savers has POI (point of interest) files for WDW. They have very good instructions on how to install them.

I just put them on my Garmin last night.

You guys are awesome! Thank you for all the tips!

I've been so spoiled with Magical Express on all of my prior trips. But we are fortunate enough now to have a local airport (like 30 min drive away) that flies into Sanford now.
Driving isn't so bad once I get used to the area.
