Having just discovered the delights of coffee (at 23! i know, how have I functioned before, I don't know?!) I've really started to enjoy a coffee after a meal but have never done this before at DLP. Looking at some menus this seems a bit expensive a gourmet coffee being about 9/10 euro! What do I get for this amount? Does this include some chocolate or something? Would appreciate if someone can tell me what you get and how is it? :)

Thank you!

Do you mean cafe gourmand?

This is a tea/coffee of your choice, plus a selection of usually 3 mini desserts. I was decidedly meh about the one I had in Walts, but loved the Cafe Mickey version (it came with a mini creme brulee, chocolate crisp and something else that I can't recall) :).

D'oh yes ! I did, it says gourmand on some menus, some it says gourmet

3 mini desserts! that sounds fab. I will certainly be trying this. I wonder if you can stop anywhere JUST for that!? :goodvibes

They became fashionable here a few years ago.

For many it's a way of having a little dessert at the end of a meal without looking greedy :lmao:

As Elaine says it's normally a trio and is a sampler of the larger dessert that they have so it varies from place to place

This is one from the Silver Spur eaten in Feb 2012 - Creme caramel, chocolat cake and apricot ice cream

Comes from this excellent blog http://benedictelarre.wordpress.com/category/►-restaurants-en-france-◄/a-disneyland-paris/

as does this one from Walt's - September 2011

Shot glass of almond ice cream with raspberry coulis, vanilla macaron and a chocolat cake with a runny chocolat center served warm

Banana milkshake, Fruit cake topped with a passion fruit mousse and a milk chocolat shell filled with whipped cream on a bed of banana and mango.

yum - I'd polish that Blue Lagoon one off in no time !

Some of those mini dessert look really yummy, shame I don't drink coffee!

Can you have these with a hot chocolate too? At almost 21 I still don't like coffee at all yet a I do enjoy a hot chocolate after my meal!
Meanwhile I'm trying to teach myself to drink tea (for now it's about a quarter cup of tea and the rest gets filled up with sugar and milk:rotfl:) which I also don't like but I can stand it better than coffee, so at least that's something!

Would it be possible to have these with hot chocolate, or maybe with tea if hot chocolate isn't allowed?

Can you have these without having had a meal? I love the look of the blue lagoon one, and so want to eat there but I hate seafood!

you can definitely have it with tea, I don't know about hot chocolate - no harm in asking though :).

I don't think you can go into the table service restaurants and just order a dessert (which is what this is essentially) - unless its a very quiet time in the restaurant, in which case the staff might let you?

But I must say you don't have to have fish at the Blue Lagoon, DD and I both had chicken there and the food was lovely :).

It says tea or coffee on the menus - these are only found in TS restaurants.

If you wanted chocolate you could go to the DLH as they do a tea time thing where you can choose your hot drink ;)

You can see the choices here

As I put up there the BL one she just had on it's own. I asked them at BL if it was often/always possible and got told that it depended on how busy they were and that it was best to try after the lunch service

These choices change when the menus change so you'd have to check before ordering what they were offering when you went if it's important for you :)

oh my goodness how cute are those mini Mickey waffles at the DLH tea ????? I have to show my DD!

I know, and at only 7,60€ for them, jam, cream and a hot drink plus the wonderful surroundings and you can get an AP discount :lmao:

It will be breakfast and teas for you at the DLH next trip ;)
