I have been thinking and re-thinking all my ADRs for our trip in a week (), and I am completely happy with all my choices except one, and I'm stressing over La Hacienda de San Angel. There seems to be a lot of negativity toward this place, and I'm starting to think I should pick another option. I already have ressies at Le Cellier, Akershus, Kona, 'Ohana, LTT and Chef Mickey's. If I cancel LHdSA, I might replace it with Gland Floridian Cafe. Thoughts one way or the other?:confused3

we really enjoyed Teppen Edo last time we were there. also in epcot we have done chef de france and biergartens are well. Both had good food and we would go to those again if we had the chance

I have not eaten at La Hacienda, so I cannot help assure of the food. However, I know that you will see a lot of negative reviews on most every restaurant. Most restaurants that we love (specifically Ohana) have some terrible reviews out there. Different strokes for different folks! I say stick with what you got, it may turn out to be someplace you love. To be honest, you're in Disney World, how bad can it be? I'm a self proclaimed "glass half fuller", but I think it's all in how you look at it. Good luck on your decision. No matter what you choose, I'm sure it'll be delish! :wizard:

Even though I may read or even solicite other people's thoughts about a restaurant, I still will try it for myself, at least once no matter if the rap is good or bad! I say give it a try, if it does not meet your exptectations then cross it off your list for next time!

Life's too short to stress over one reservation!

LOL we JUST switched our La Hacienda too- I dont know why- We were so excited to try there and its just lost its appeal to us. We are doing Rose and Crown instead

It's still a very new restaurant. I tried it in December and was disappointed. There are very few entrees and to me they just weren't the best for the price. The restaurant itself is pretty and the view is great.

We ate there over Christmas and liked it - it is not "local Mexican" type, its much more upscale, but we all thought it very tasty. We had a late ADR so watched Illuminations from there, and thought the view was really good (and not having to stake out a place outside in the cold was great!). They custom made DS's dinner (he really just wanted a cheese quessadila, so they grilled a "kids soft taco with only cheese" for him)

Grand Floridian was good too. Wed go back to either of those.

I tend to ignore the reviews unless they are consistently bad. It is a matter of personal taste and sometimes a bit of luck in getting a good server (this can make all the difference). I have had some great meals at places with few reviews or lots of criticism. I have also had some meh food at 'popular' places.

I always look carefully at the menu and ensure that I care for the type of fare offered. I don't care for Chinese cuisine so I will avoid Nine Dragons. I love Japanese food so Teppan Edo and Yakitori House (also gets it's fair share of negative reviews) are just fine by me.

I ate at La Hacienda 12/23 with DS and DD (both 16). Both kids enjoyed the shrimp tacos, although the sauce was a little spicy for them - I'd suggest asking for it on the side. We all liked the Botana and queso fundido appetizers that we shared. I had the roast pork dish, which was pretty good, but I think I would have the shrimp tacos next time. I can't remember if we had dessert. We had a great table with a view of Illuminations.

I forgot to say that the service was excellent and the guava margarita was very tasty!

We did La Hacienda in October and I loved it. Loved the menu, loved the view, and had great service. Tried the marg flight, nice!!

Reviews on the DIS are just like real life, some like, some love some hate. If the menu intrigues you, give it a shot:thumbsup2

I've heard bad things here, but on allears the reviews are quite good. The menu isn't enchiladas - it's "different" Mexican food than what people see at Tex Mex places. We are trying it in a few weeks!

I say go for it. We didn't eat there in September, but we looked at the menu. It looked good. The view is great. Why not give it a try?

Where exactly is this in the Mexico Pavillion? I can't picture it at all. When did it open?

It opened in the fall of last year. It looks really good IMO and we ate twice at the CS restaurant and found it a vast improvement on the previous one (which I quite liked anyway)

When you are facing the World Showcase if you enter it from the left (Test Track side) it is the first country you get to.

I've been debating this too....but I think we're going to stick with our la hacienda ressie. It'll be fun to try something new, and maybe we'll love it. I know how you feel though: the "but if I cancel ...... I can fit in ....." routine. I can't seem to stop myself!!:rotfl:

Stop stressing, I like this restaurant, most of my family also like it, my DH does not, yet we still go. :)

There will always good and bad reviews on each restaurants. There are a few on your list that I don't care for and some I won't return to. If it something I want to try I'll read the reviews, try it with little expectations, and sometimes I'm surprised at why it got bad reviews.

Ok, I think I'm sticking with it! When I stopped to think about it, I realized I didn't really have a good reason for wanting to change, except that I'm a control freak and want the meals to be perfect.;)

OP, thank you for your post! We are 18 days out and I am *still* juggling our ADRs around. I keep second guessing, changing, and moving them. I so appreciate that there is another person out there feeling the same way. :rotfl:

Sorry I can't help you with your decision (I've never eaten at either, but we do have ressies at GFC for this trip.), I hope you're happy with whatever you decide!!
