Gotta love bounceback! 10th ann. & family vaca PTR-9/201o-WE'RE BACK!

Plans continue to look great. Do you now that in eight stays we have NEVER eaten at Maya Grill for dinner (we did breakfast twice). That food looks scrumptious. :)

Kathy, the food at Maya was amazing. I had the best baked potato ever there. It's like hidden gem of a place. I really suggest trying it for dinner. :thumbsup2

Today was fun. I tried to do some Disney planning but I ended up spending time chasing someone around the house. Wanna guess who that would be?

Yeah, this guy........

His two sister are still a bit unnerved that he's here. I think that they are wondering if he is here to stay or what.:rolleyes1

I think Gus is over the whole thing. He sits and stares at him, but that's about it.

Before I sat down to work on my touring plans, I went outside to see how my flowers are doing. We're calling for rain today so I didn't water them.

My basil has tripled in size since I planted it. I love that stuff!

I've got one more day of touring plans to do and then I plan to focus on my packing list. I always seem to overpack and I really want to concentrate this year on not doing that again. We end up shlepping luggage all over the place and with the condition of Joe's back, there is no way that we can do that again this year.

We plan to do laundry...rather, I plan to do laundry. :rolleyes1 That may help with the amount of stuff we pack however coming home is a different story. I just can't figure out why I take so much stuff with me. I take gadgets and gizmos a plenty.......

We must be true kindred spirits!! I LOVE and ADORE WS too! I could live there if they let me! Every pavilion is my favorite!

I love growing basil too! It grows so fast, and tastes

I am soooooo sorry that I am late replying. Bad Stefy :headache:

Steve is just so adorable and you are making me laugh with your descrip of the others and their not so pleased attitude towards him.

Loving all the photos of him and the others :goodvibes and your flowers are lovely, some great shots :goodvibes

Your plans for Day 10 sound great and loving all the photos, esp the Beast one :)

I like all of the pavilions as well. If someone asked me my favorite, I don't think I could respond. :confused3 I do love the shopping in China and Japan though.

Basil sure does grow fast. I love it though and I use a lot of it. At the end of the season, I dry what I have left and then crush it.

Steve is a hoot! He's like a little monkey though. He climbs and crawls and gets into EVERYTHING you can imagine.

I'm getting ready to post our going home day. How depressing. :sad1::sad2::sad1:

Day 11 - GOING HOME :sad2::sad1::sad2:

Well, we're at the last day ... going home day. Sheesh, so depressing. I am hoping that we have found a bounceback offer in our room as our intent is to bounce back. We have been talking about moving the big family vacation to the month of February when it's not so stinking hot! Even if we do move our family trip, Joe and I will continue to come down in September for a shorter trip to celebrate our anniversary. We're not quite sure when we are moving the trip date though. I think it will probably happen in 2012.

Our flight doesn't leave MCO until mid-afternoon. Joe is awesome when it comes to getting us to the airport so we probably have until around 1 or 1:15 before we head to the airport.

I did not make an ADR for breakfast so that we have a bit of flexibility. Here are a couple of options:

Option #1
We go back to a park. We've been ending our stay with either Epcot or DHS since those parks are easy to get out of. There is less "travel" time to the car, etc. Joe has a handicap pass due to his issues with walking so if we go to EPCOT or DHS we are close to the entrance of the park.

Option #2
Bite the bullet and go to MK. Get there when it opens and stay until about 12:30, then head to the car.

Option #3
No park but go to DTD before we check out. Have breakfast at Earl, do last minute shopping, spend the snack credits we have left and then go back to the resort and do final packing.

I don't think that we'll really know what we are going to do until last minute. It will all depend on how we feel come that final morning.

What option would you go for?

The last day is always a bit sad. But who knows by Day 11 you may be ready to go home. (Probably not;) I think you should just wait and see what you feel like doing on that last day. It probably will depend on how the rest of the trip has gone.

I like all three  but I suppose it depends on what you feel like doing. Option 1 and 3 sound more doable as they make travelling arrangements easier for you.

Do you think you will want to do a park on your last day, or do you think you will feel like last minute shopping and Goofy treats?

Joe is usually ready to go home by day 11. Me, well, I miss my cats. I think if I didn't have the cats, I wouldn't want to go home. :cutie:

We usually do want to do a park on our last day. Most of the time we get a later flight home so we can go to a park and DTD that day. This year, the last flight out is mid-afternoon.

Well, it looks like Joe will be having surgery. :sad2: We are expecting a call from the hospital today with the surgery date. I'm crossing my fingers that this goes well..........

Plans look great! I think all three options for your last day sound good. We're like you though, we never know what we're going to do until the last minute. Like you said, it all depends on what you feel like doing. I might be tempted to go to a park one last time.

I like Option #2 the best...but this is what we always do (at the park for rope drop and do the rides we want to do again, have lunch at the Plaza, watch the parade, pass out my "memory" balloon and then head to the airport (although this year we're heading to Marco Island).

:goodvibes You should pop over and see him since you live so close!

We defineately need to meet up since we live so close together. I keep trying to convince my mom we need to go get a kitten but she keeps shooting me down. I mean we have two cats so what's 3 or 4 :goodvibes

I'm sorry to hear that Joe has to have the surgery, I know you were hoping that that would be a last resort option later on  But at least he will back to his old self with no more pain and problems :goodvibes

I am always tempted to do a park one last time. I have no clue though how everyone else will feel. :confused3

We have 4 now so I know exactly what you mean! :rotfl: I think we should make a plan to meet some time. Joe's surgery is this month but maybe we can squeeze a meeting in? Do you ever go to the St. Demetrios Greek Festival? We go every year. We use to work it but with Joe's back, that is out of the question. PM me if you do, and maybe we can meet there? But we'll have to schedule a time too when you can come over and meet the fur babies!!

I am hoping that the surgery works. Keeping my fingers crossed.

As I posted earlier, Joe is definitely having surgery. We have our date now (it's this month). According to the doctor, there should be no problem making the trip. We're 90 days out and I guess it just sounds "close" to me but maybe that's because I started counting at 300 and some days! :rolleyes1

We're getting some things done pre-surgery....like pruning the ornamental cherry tree and stuff like that. It's not easy for him to do with the pain, but some of these things are things that I cannot do myself.

We're also looking at getting Joe a customized cane. He needs one already but has not wanted to get one. It's a must now. My friend is sending me a site that we can order one from and have it customized. They tell you how to measure the person, etc. We've got to get that done quickly. I keep teasing him and telling him I'm gonna find one of those collapsible ones that I can whip out of my purse! Ha, he didn't think it was funny though.

I've arranged to work from home for 2 weeks after surgery. There will be a couple of days where I absolutely have to go to the office so I am working on seeing if I can get someone here for those days because I worry...Joe's not worried....I think he thinks that I am crazy...........:rolleyes1

I am a tad bit bummed though as my nephew was going to help me with yard work, etc., however my sister decided that she is taking him to Florida to see family....for a month! She is going to go over the holiday weekend to take him there and then he will stay a month. Man, I wish the month were August instead of July. I know, I'm being selfish but honestly, I'm just in a panic about this....but, it is what it is and it's always been me doing all the helping and never asking for help so I think I am feeling a bit sorry for myself....ok, pity party is now over!

Bummer about DN going away, I know that you were counting on his help. Is there noone else that you can ask? What about advertising for someone once a week or something?

Bless Joe, I can get him not laughing at the joke, but it tickled me :) Hopefully he will be more enthusiastic when you get the site from your friend then he can start picking out designs. I would still look into a collapsible one too, sounds like a good idea.

I am glad there are no problems for you guys with the trip. Was so worried that you mightn't be able to go. Makes it all the more special now too

Me and Dave are thinking of you guys and are sending lots of pixie dust your way pixiedust:

Bummer about your nephew not being around to help. Hopefully you can find someone who can help out.

I hope all goes well with Joe's surgery. It sounds like it will help him tremendously. My mom actually has one of those collapsible canes, she used it in Disney, and loves it. We found hers at Drug Mart and it was nice since she did not have to hold it all the time or find a place for it. She could just fold it up and keep it in her bag when she did not need it.

I sent you a pm about meeting up.

Sorry to hear that Joe has to have surgery (Mark is having his back surgery two weeks before our trip), but I'm sure he'll be fine. Sorry that DN won't be around to help you.

What are your exact dates in Florida again? I tried to skim through the report again and somehow missed the exact dates.

I think I should be able to manage on my own. It will be hard balancing work though as I have a lot of work ahead of me at the office right now.

My friend sent me the links to the cane site so I have to get with Joe and get that ordered asap.

Thanks for thinking about us and sending pixie dust.

I'm wondering if the collapsible cane will hold Joe. That's the only worry that I have. I'm going to check out Drug Mart....thanks for the tip....we have one right on Dover and Detroit.

I sent you a PM and will email you once I get with Joe. Looking forward to meeting you in person.

I wish Mark the best on his surgery. I wish Joe would be able to recover that fast but there is no way, according to the doctors. :sad1:

We will be there Sept 10 - Sept 20th. I can't remember, do our dates cross at all? Would be awesome to be able to meet and say HI!!!!
