Gotta have ears! Traditional black or Anniversary gold?

I like my leopard print ears (of course they are not like the traditional black or anniv. gold ones ~ they are a headband) but I prefer that!!

We went with the gold with our names embroidered on them. Heck...the black are classic but the gold won't be around forever!

My thoughts exactly. I think you will only be able to get the gold ears up until the anniversary is over (Sept 2006?) - you can always get the black your next trip :thumbsup2

Can't go wrong with Gold!:teeth:

I think the gold ones show up nicely in photos but, will probably retire them after this year.

I have Minnie Ear's head-band, trying to work my courage up to wear the costume for Halloween....eek! it's a giant mouse.

Last I knew, the Gold ears ONLY came in adult sizes. SORRY KIDDOS! I guess they can still wear them but they will be a little big...

The MK Chapeau store had the kids w/the elastic band (wish they would have fit my big head)...not crazy about using bobby pins.

This is my feeling..unless you are not a gold fan. :earsboy:

I would definitely go with the gold. :thumbsup2 They'll be gone after the HCOE. When we went last June everyone was sold out...we had CM's calling other parks, resort gift shops...they were in demand then. The only place that had them was WOD at DTD. We snatched up two, one for each kid, and took them to The Chapeau to have the kids names put on them. :cool1:

My DD wants the gold ones. I hope they come in children's sizes. Like some people said, the gold wont be around long so now is your chance to get them before they are gone.

Oh they sound so neat! I've had ears before when I was little. I guess I'll look into these again. Maybe even get names put on them. Do they do the names in MK? pixiedust:

Can anyone post pictures of the different kinds of Mickey Ears? Do they make different kind of "ears"? Two of my kids will have birthdays while we are in Disney - would be nice to get them "birthday ears" to wear - they would stand out in a crowd. :bday:

Can we order "ears" on line anywhere or do we have to wait until we get there and hope we can find some gold ones? :earsgirl:

I have the hard black plastic headband ears (they really hurt your head!) that we got on our honeymoon 15 yrs. ago. Hopefully, they have created "new and improved", more comfortable ears!

If you buy them in MGM, you pay for embroidery...I think also @ DTD.

MK Chapeau shop (to the right when you enter - sort of down the alley next to candy store) has lots of different hats, most of which they'll "hand/free style" embroidery free - with the purchase of the hat.

The person in front of me in line was angry that they wouldn't embroider one she got elsewhere.

The black MM ear version is felt-like now....didn't see any plastic models.

They have the head bands (including bridal) but, you can't get them personalized.

Compared w/the other prices for WDW souveniers, I think the personalized mouse ears are a great deal.

How much do they cost? :scratchin

Hi! I ordered our gold Mickey ears through DW mail merchandise. They cost $11.50 each. At the time they only had the adult sizes. The CM started a search to find DD some special Mickey ears. We ended up finding the most adorable gold celebration Minnie headband. The headband and ears are totally covered in gold sequins with a gold bow that says 50 in the middle. They look so cute on! I must have lost the tag, so I don't have the item number handy. :guilty:

I just found a picture of them at the laughingplace.com, in the Mickey ears section if anyone's interested. :)

The book I have (Disney on a Dime) states " The Chapeaux on Main Street in MK will embroider any hat made by Disney. You do not have to purchase it in the shop. You can buy mouse ears or other Disney headgear outside the park or bring hats from a previous trip. As long as it has Disney somehwhere on it, Cast members in the shop will embroider it for free."

Is this true or is the quoted poster correct? I need to know so I don't buy my ears earlier than MK. I want our names embroidered on them!

.

Embroidery at the Chapeau is no longer free, but $2.00. It is not as nice as the embroidery at MGM or The Christmas Store at DTD.

Lots and lots of hats on EBAY....

They have many kinds of ears right now-
Black Mickey
Gold Mickey
Purple w/Tinkerbell
Muilti colored with the classic characters - I think I have seen these...
At Chrirstmas they had red santal like hat part with black ears that had snowflakes on them.
They had New year ears...they had valentine ears... they seem to be expanding - like the antennea toppers!

Here is what I could find pics of on EBAy real quick

Gold
pink

Bride and Groom
Valentine Hat (I would think not avail now... I sawthem at DTD WOD before VDay)

Tinkerbelle

So, is 2.00, whether you buy the ears there or not? How much is embroidery at MGM and DTD?
